Hotel staff are exceptional. We encountered problems unrelated to the hotel during our stay but thanks to the hard work and courtesy of the staff, the problems were solved immediately. They obviously take client service very seriously. Truly impressed by staff.
Everything was great exact the staff were rude on check in. The facilities were amazing and I did get a late check out to 2pm. Staff were rude. They couldn't find my reservation. Waited 45 minutes for them to sort out the problem (their reservation system did not like I booked the hotel 3 hours before I arrived). They could have at least offered a drink or snack or something instead of making me stand around waiting for them to sort out the problem.
Location and the free shuttle from Hong KOng central station was good. Also they have upgraded my room from club room to suit without charging any money.
bed and shower menu and the fun things
Hardly anything Room rather small and smelly. One bed was less than fair. No heating in room. Breakfast "room" untidy and unpleasant.
location is near the centrum hotel is noisy, because near the main roads anda bars, clubs
convenience transport. quite near to MTR station, free shuttle to airport express station. below average servicing among 4 star hotel. Got a lots of bar nearby, may not be good for family with kids.
Location and comfortable bed Size of bath, height of shower, breakfast choice poor, being telephoned about house keeping when do not disturb sign on door.
The room is clean and quiet, and the hotel is quite close to Wan Chai mtr Station. The room rate is high compared to surrounding hotels.
Good location and price. Breakfast was definitely not the best in the world.
Location Noise from Bar across the road.
Up grade to a suite without asking The breakfast wasn't brilliant
Staff was very accomodating in providing a free upgrade as we were on our honeymoon. Except for internet, service was excellent. The available internet was expensive (US$15/day) & on an unsecured connection with low signal strength.
The fantastic harbour view! The staff at the front desk gave me the wrong direction to the Four Seasons Hotel. I also got disturbed twice even when I hang the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door.
Excellent room conditions, and room view for Price, It excede my expectations. Good service at front desk and Tours offered in hotel. Breakfast buffete can improve in quality and variety, more occidental food for turists.
Cleanliness of my room breakfast --not very diversified
Good location, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Value for money. For the price we paid, the room was good and big enough (considering HK standards). The hotel is undergoing renovations so it is much better than other older hotels. Good rates given by Booking.com, lower than most other Internet sites
The location on Hong Kong island and proximity to the main areas I wasn't able to specify a double bed and ended up with 2 singles
Breakfast Rude staff. On arrival, even though the bill was secured by credit card, I was required to pay in full for the eight night stay by an exceptionally rude and insensitive staff member.
meals of room service so bad sorry
the location is great, the rooms are adequate. the view is good. the wireless broadband is very expensive! it has different pay rates 1 hr 24 etc. but the 24hrs isnt 24 hours. its only the day paid - midnight to midnight! this was very annoying when i had planned to use it the morning i left and had paid 24hrs deliberately for this purpose, only find the next morning i had to pay again! Room service menu is very limited.
This hotel is an economical way to stay in Hong Kong in a great location central to public transport, ferries, easy walking and a harbor view. The staff was hardworking and friendly. No downsides to this place. It's a great find & reservations fill up quickly.
Great hotel, goof buy in HKG, especially with three kid in tow, spacious and clean rooms, good beds, good babybed, babysitter trustworthy, loved thje kids, good breakfast, though place not suitable for family with small kids as you have to eat it on couches around a low table. Lots of places close to hotel.
The Staff is really friendly, the location is very good, and the tea kitchen. The price is little too expensive
The staff were excellent I thought. Helpful, courteous whatever the time of day/night, and very professional. It's a good hotel if you're travelling for business or as a couple. Not a place I would recommend if you are travelling with young children. The rooms are very small compared to the more established hotels so whilst the decor and amenities provided are good, some travellers may prefer a room with a little more leg room.
Friendly staff, very clean, excellent facilities Not a place for toddlers
it was really central and rather quiet, ideal to rest after a busy day in the city
relatively quiet vs other hotels
location and comfort unexciting lobby!
The staff was very friendly and courteous.
lounge, rooms Make sure the concierge guys really understand the our request when ordering a taxi. They don't really listen or confirm properly our request. We were dropped off a 5 minute walk away from an important meeting and were late and upset when we arrived
in the heart of Causeway bay. Very convenient for food and shopping
Close to expo area and close to shops Did not change the bed sheets for three night's, customer disk service are roud !!
Room is small but ok. Breakfast is good. Receptionists never smile and seem to be unfriendly. Should change forks, spoons etc. before next dish in restaurant. Kills me when waitres with unfriendly face take dirty plate away but leave used forks and knives at the table. Not acceptably in restaurant. Not even during breakfast.
The Gym and pool and location and comfort of hotel the rooms are very small
It's fantastic. Convenient and easy to travel around shopping areas and also good for business trips. Staff and hotel services are excellent. Room is very comfortable and clean. I would love to go back and stay at the hotel again. Nil.
The location is in an excellent location for a stay on Hong Kong Island. With good facilities, clean (somewhat small) rooms, it is a much more reasonably priced option than some of the grand hotels on Hong Kong Island.
All works well.
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. I stay here because of a number of reasons: Its not far from MTR, its good valuve for the money, its located in a historical part of Hong Kong, can walk to the Star Ferry, interesting shopping nearby, and I get points from the Accor chain. Staff is friendly. Its nice to be centrally located in this part of Hong Kong, lots of cool restaurants nearby.
Excellent & Friendly staff - Nice easy transfer from the airport using the hotel shuttle bus - nice restaurant & bar area - free internet in hotel lobby - brilliant location within walking distance of star ferry pier to Kowloon - lots of good restaurants and causeway bay shopping area in close (walking) range
Convenient location, good facilities, clean rooms
Did not feel under pressure from the staff. They helped when I asked for help
How advance is the technological facilities in the hotel. Very long process in checking in. they didnt want to give us room right away (though we reached there by 4PM), but after insisting for a long while they finally gave us our room.
Beautiful view of Victoria Harbour, location close to shopping Nothing wrong
Location is great, room is quite spacious and bathroom is roomy. Overall I'm very satisfied with the hotel. My booking.com indicated breakfast was included, but it was denied during check in. I had to send e-mail and call manager to clarify this. Btw, coffee at breakfast buffet was sour and tasted like yesterday's coffee.
This is a great hotel in HongKong which is rare Getting a taxi is difficult !
Very attractive, comfortable room. Restaurant closes at 12, upper level bar was reserved for a private function. It was impossible for me to have a drink or eat after work.
convenient location to shopping area, walking distance to wan chai area with lots of bars. no free wi fi.
brandnew hotel with good location and view into the "Happy Valley". Great outside pool on the roof. breakfast room too crowded and noisy. Breakfast extremely expensive.
very new hotel convenietnly located near shopping area. the design of the hotel is very decent. no free wi fi
The location is very strategic and convenient. Maybe the lobby can be upgraded with live music stage.
The included breakfast was below expectations and we ended up eating breakfast at Starbucks!
Great location - so very convenient. Low cost - good value for money.
The size of the room was plesently surprising for a Hong Kong hotel. The included breakfast was unexpected and offered a good choice. The lack of bar soap in favor of liquid pump soap, particularly in the shower, was not appreciated.
Good location. Would be nice if there is a bathtub.
the location, and the service was great... Room was clean and mordern..
The location was excellent. The room provisions was up to my expectations despite my usual business hotel stays. 1. there was a fair amount of hair stuck under my room slippers, perhaps the removal from the carpet was not ideal. 2. I expected better toiletry provisions like soap and shampoo packaged instead of a dispenser 2 in 1.
Central and functional for my one day visit and meetings Could upgrade broadband to wireless
Good value for money. The staff was not well-trained. The concierge did not provide good avdvice. Breakfast staff spoke little English.
I was pleasantly surprised by this charming, clean, classic British style little boutique type hotel. The location for me was perfect. The staff was wonderful. The daily complimentary breakfast was good enough for me (I'm a vegetarian). Overall, I am very happy with my choice. The poor behaviour of the CHinese people from China. I can tell the visitors from China are really not your worldly travellers and acted very badly. Make sure you ask for non-smoking room, you might be able to avoid the mainland Chinese as your neigbors because they are all smokers.
Helpful staff, good quiet location
Convenience and good location, polite & helpful staff. Smoking smell even on non-smoking floor where I was staying.
The location of the hotel which is convenient for me to move about. I can just hop on to the tram and get to Causeway Bay which takes just about 15-20 minutes. You may like to know I have stayed in Happy Valley for 7 years in the 90's. It would be good if the hotel provides complimentary newspapers to room guests. May be you can suggest this to the owner.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly which made our stay much easier.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was comprehensive and everything was kept topped-up The bed was the hardest I have ever slept in
The room service was excellent. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were helpful and spoke excellent English. This, to my knowledge, is the only hotel in Hong Kong which includes breakfast and service charge. The hotel location was not too bad although nothing touristy around the vicinity as Happy Valley is a residential suburb. i.e. lots of estate agents, a convenience store down the road. However, it only cost us about HKD30 by taxi to get to the city from the hotel which is reasonable. From the airport to the hotel, a taxi costs about HKD320 which is also not too bad. We got room service for lunch on one of the days we stayed there and they went the extra mile to prepare vegetarian meals for us which we were very pleased with. :) 9/10 The mattress in our room was very hard, however, cannot really complain as we were only there for 2 nights and the whole package was excellent value for money. The carpet was slightly stained and very little water was coming out of the shower, so not exactly a power shower BUT all in all, it is a great package if you're just there for up to a week. I would rate it as 4*.
comfortable room , and coffee shop web servations
Hotel a little over-rated and riding a bit off the back of having two of Hong Kongs best restaurants in the same building. Locaion a bit out of the way for most things you might want to see / do. Staff did their best to get me an early check-in as I arrived at 8am. Others arriving just after we less lucky. Location not great but right on the tramline.
Huge room for hong kong standards. Real (and huge) paintings in the room and corridors. Good location and excellent price. If you have a lot of baggage, the free shuttle to the airport express line ( hong kong station ) can be very convenient (otherwise subway can be faster) Overpriced dinner buffet....but who care about that in hong kong? a city with so many culinary options
My room was very spacious. I did get upgraded but this was much cheaper and just as luxurious as the the grand Hyatt in wan chai. Great location very near the metro and next toVictoria park. Also next to Ding Tai Fung.
Good hospitality It was a little difficult to catch a taxi.
Good value for a good location. Great staff and lovely appearance. Kayak's booking didn't go through and caused a delayed check-in.
The location is a stone throw away from major shopping malls at Causeway Bay Hong Kong. It has complimentary bus service by Airport Shuttle H2 from Hong Kong station. Room size is good for Hong Kong standard. Gym is in basement 3, not big, but no views, no service staff, but open 24 hrs enter by hotel room key. There is a small pool on 32nd floor roof top with sweeping views. Good thing is via booking.com, you can cancel the booking up to 2 days before the travelling date. You do not pay online and settle the bill directly with the hotel only when you check out of the hotel. The toiletries provided is insufficient and a little stingy. For instance, if previous days toiletries are used partially, chamber maid may not replenish the next day even though you pay for the another day's room night. Quality of shampoo and bath gel is economical and not befitting a 5 star hotel. There is no comb, cotton wool for ladies facial, or cottton buds provided. If you pay for an extra bed, sometimes they forgot to provide 3rd set of towels or complimentary towel. Booking.com does not show the service charge to be imposed which may amount to 10% of room rates quoted. Please budget for that when you settle your bill. It should quote the all in costs to be transparent for travellers.
Reception and check in not very friendly.
Nothing First off we booked for 10/21-23 and my email confirmarion and screen shot of booking all confirmed this. When we went to check in , they told us that booking was for 11/4-6. I showed them the confirmation then they told us we needed to take the issue up with kayak. After arguing for 3 hours(i dont give up) they finally gave us the room. The hotel is NOT a 5 star (1star) and the pictures are MISLEADING. Theoughout the stay the staff was awful. The hotel is also filled with mainlanders which makes it extremely noisy and crowded. Avoid avoid avoid. I couldnt take another day so in the end I booked the shangri-la.
The location is the best for shopping and eating The amenities in the bathroom didn't change or add such as bar soap.
ask the staff to fix the bath room , but they never sent staff to fix it . very disppointed.
Location of hotel Quality of service. Even the staff serving the executive club floor were not friendly and helpful. Especially the female staff.
Fairly quick check in process (which was also improved since the room was prepaid by booking through Kayak) Easy access via taxi, with a covered drop off/pick up area (great since it rains so much in Hong Kong) 2 complimentary bottles of filtered water Safe in the room didn't work at all, and looked like it had been tampered with Small lobby with a ton of bags left by other guests, with minimal security and the bags out in the open Toilet was chipped and cracked Shower door didn't close fully, and the hot water took forever to come out Overall, pretty shabby decor and facilities for the price paid. I'd recommend Lanson Place Hotel over the Regal for any business travellers.
The hotel was very comfortable and the location was good. A lot of negative reviewers complained about the renovation noise, but we didn't hear any noise at all during our 5 day stay. The rooms were very nicely renovated and there is a very nice park within the hotel which my kids loved spending a half day playing at.
This was my primary hotel for HK. Many stays. Treated poorly. Escorted to door like bad guy. Mgr offered water as cure.
Hotel location was great, hotel was clean and breakfast was rich. After checking in the hotel, we learned that the hotel is being renovated and that noise may intefer our stay.If I have known this before booking the hotel ,I would not choose this hotel.
vier & location
Very helpful staff who really went out of their way to provide assistance.
staff friendly and efficient room fittings little tired
Good design, very convenient, excelllent value
Staff were excellent no shaver point in the bathroom
This hotel was compact but had a fantastic bed and everything we needed. Would stay there again.
The location was excellent and the maid service and buffet breakfast was very good. THe price of drinks at the hotel bar was far too expensive.
Smoking smell in room
Clean and nice hotel in a good location with reasonable rate.
Conviently situated for our sond flat in Happy Valley, Size of room and the fact that although it was 'an executive' room it had a connecting door with another room and we had constant noise from the people next door during the middle of the night on various occassions which we complained about to reception
It was pretty easy going, clean and convenient. Very friendly staff and service was good Nothing.
Convenience to transport Breakfast strong Asian focus and repetitive. Advertising photos on website do not match actual rooms. Not all facilities offered were provided, for example internet access in triple studio room. Rooms very small in particular triple studio, hardly any hanging space.
The room (was very pretty) and The Nooch Bar. The staff at the frontdesk was not very helpfull and not friendly.
I appreciate the quirky location and neighbourhood (nestled amongst interior design shops and residential district). The room including the bathroom is decent and clean. The accessibility of the hotel to food and Causeway Bay MTR station is also another plus point. The service staff in general were not too friendly and meticulous but then again, almost every service staff in Hong Kong has the same attitude. The hotel failed to check my room thoroughly after the previous guest checked out because I found spoilt pomelo in the fridge. Surprisingly, the wifi connection was pretty slow despite its name. But all in all, I had a good experience with the hotel.
Internet access included in the rate, although speeds were slow. Nothing much superior about this hotel room or the hotel itself. Shame as it could be a really nice designer hotel but so much looks unfinished, unclean , poorly planned in terms of layout. I have since read quite negative reviews and I would agree with them. For the standard of the hotel, the price seemed expensive compared to what I have experienced in Hong Kong before. All quite disappointing. Mine was a last minute trip and availability was limited but I wouldn't choose this hotel again.
The fast wifi was great. Check-in time was 2pm.
Perfect clean little hotel. Great location for exploring. The lifts need sprucing up.
I liked this hotel because it was close to the embasy and I booked it only 3 days in advance. I didn't like the fact that they don't have any car service.
The free internet is not wireless, only with cable which is inconvenient
Excellent location. We enjoyed the nearby shopping at Causeway Bay and relative proximity of the MTR station.
the quiteness of the hotel and the location of the hotel. The room is too small and there is no sign of the hotel from street level
The location of the hotel is excellent, close to subway and all amenities. the staff were very pleasant at check-in and all in all a very pleasant saty overall. Will use this hotel on my next visit to Hong Kong, especially as it's less than 100 yards to my office.
Good place in the city. The free cable internet was advertised, but in fact staff claims you have to pay for cable, other guests claiming also paying for the adapter.
Complimentary water and juice Small, smelly( cig. smoke odour) and well used room, Inconsistent front desk service, price for room was outrageous.
the price rate of the hotel and the distance from the venue of the Hong Kong convention area in my reservation, there is no free breakfast included
Clean, great location - excellent basic cheap hotel (Superior Room)
Location is close to shopping area in Hong Kong, hence situated in a very lively area. Budget/packer feeling of the room.
Clean, good location, good price. Only one person in front desk, easy to get blocked if several customers are there. Better check out with plenty of time.
services & facilities not as good as previous years. hotel run down.
close to shopping area hotel too old
very close to the downtown center shopping mall no swimming pools
A lot of lifts available for guests so practically didnt have to wait long for a ride. It has been remodeled & the rooms are the same size but newer carpet, bathroom. Very conveniently located
Central locality, near Times Square and all business centres. Honesty of housekeeping staff, they returned me some monies left behind. Front Office is too jammed and efficiency doubtful.
The CD player in the room is very nice, I happened to buy a disk before I got there, I loved the music and the night view outside the window is goreiouse! Brekafast is not quite good and it is not worth the price they charge!
Staff were helpful and room was always made up whenever requested.
The additional charge for internet use in your room is disappointing, particularly with the high cost of accommodation in the hotel.
We loved our room with the view of the park and harbour. It was also close to good shopping and the railway station. The bed and bathroom were very clean and modern. We did not realize it did not have a pool but this didn't matter as the weather was cool.
The rain shower in the signsture room was heavenly. Location was great and handy to services. Hotel Shuttle services were prompt and luxurious. There was a late check-out offered as part of package but we weren't allowed it, also offered selection of pillows was unavailable. Room Service and Operator services were rude. Also the signature rooms, the aparent highest quaility suites, had no windows and felt like being in basement instead of 2nd floor.
Convenient, no fuss
Beds are comfy.... Had to leave because the bookings in the area and too expensive.
relatively good hotel considering it is in wanchai far from MTR.
Very easy to catch a night bus to the airport. Small
Hotel staff was polite, service minded and capable. Breakfast was excellent. Given the age of the hotel, the old decoration and compared to othet Hong Kong Island Hotels, the price/quality ratio is too rosy! However, the hotel was under decoration and they did it without noise! That is something!
Could smell smoke in my non-smoking room. I think it was from the room next door
Staff friendly, good service, concierge knowledgeable and helpful - Champs Bar good. Walking distance of MTR, ferries and Shopping Malland loacl food markets. Rooms adequate but a bit small, likewise corridors narrow
The location is excellent, it is between two MTR stations and in a quiet location. It was quite comfortable for what it is. Needs a refurbishment and bed linen is a bit grey, old and stained.
central location moudy rooms, poor services
I stayed there on 2 occasions a few days apart first time I liked my room on the 20th floor 2nd time I stayed there I was on the 16th floor and found the room dissappointing small and the decor very tired
Room are cleans 1. I booked a king room and been told only double bed room After I mad a fuss the staff got me queen size bed... 2. I asked to extend my check out. I stayed until 7pm they charged me full fare for the night....staff totally not helpful in this concern. This hotel is a real nightmare with check in / out extension 3. No brush teeth in the bathroom. Need to ask everytime 4. Can not get a single plate delivered in the bath room 5. Need to ask a second large towell Overall very light service for a 4 stars
Convenience of the location Untimely cleaning of the room
Very good location. Close to the fair and to mass transport.
location location location. On the first day they put me into a room with broken AC: it was cooling all the time regardless of the setting so my room became freaking cold. When I reported this I was told that they could change my room the next day so I was forced to sleep in this fridge! I caught a cold and couldn't fully enjoy the rest of my stay. In the new room the bathtub plughole was blocked when I checked in. I reported this and they said they would repair this, but in fact they made only a bit less blocked...
Economic and efficient. Clean.
Right at the heart of Wan Chai, the center of night life full of pub and bar and restaurant. Close to MTR - the subway train network. Reception counter is a bit small; the gym and the swimming pool are in the next building.
helpful, friendly and informative staff
It was quiet, staff were available and checkin/out was quick
convenient location to metro station. easy to go anywhere. the room is still small even it's executive.
Location was good The rooms were smelly. I had a non-smoking room, abd I still could not sleep because of the smell in the room. I asked them to change the room, they did. I found out that the new room was recently renovated. The first room was very old.
