comfortable room, good breakfast noise from other residents was unacceptable - didn't sleep well
We had an amazing view over the city as we were on the 9th floor. The room was clean. We arrived about 6pm and the bar was rather rowdy, It was like being at a football match. The room was nice but rather cold. We tried to adjust the heating but seemed to be blowing cold air. As we were there only one night we didn't report it at the time. No on sight parking.
everything...very clean modern hotel with excellent food &bars and friendly staff everything was fine...
Easy Access and Good Positioning
Location No parking, cheaper on discount site.
This is a great, modern, hotel. very hand to city centre, shops and night life.If you are arriving by train, its just a few minutes walk to the hotel.
It was clean, comfortable and efficient Everything was fine.
No hassle, good slick operation. Decent breakfast. Key card had to be reset, apart from that it was great.
Room was spacious The car park was not that easy to get to. The heater in the room did not appear to work.
center of city... few minutes walk from station
Size of bedroom and general cleanliness of the hotel
The only things I liked about this hotel was the city centre location and some of the staff were exceptionally pleasant. We were not given the room as described on-line. There was a very small (1 glass) of wine and 2 chocolates (not a box) as described on-line. The bar prices were ridiculously expensive.
The fire alarm went off at 6:45!
All staff excellent - they seem to like having hotel guests and enjoy working there. Room had an iron and ironing board and tea-making facilities. Location is first rate. The 'Double Deluxe Room' was just an ordinary double room with a rather narrow double bed. No room safe, no mini-bar.
City centre location; pleasant décor; fairly good value for money Too warm in room; shower head fell off when adjusting; room size quite small and cramped; very few extras (like shoe buffer)
Location. Horrendous price when we could have paid half on booking.com; small compact room, hardly any space to move about in the room. Very hard to find. We had to park in the shopping centre Victoria and then find our way to the hotel. Will definitely ask my friends to stay away from this hotel when £130 could buy so much more elsewhere in Nottingham.
Location excellent Hotel in serious need of refurbishment. Although the price was reasonable for the Hilton, was placed in a box room, no window views and room needed a few locks of paint. Would have paid more and stayed in a more modern hotel
The hotel was perfectly placed to visit our son at university and be right in the heart of things for shopping and eating. We have stayed here once before and would stay again. The floorboards in our room (312) and the surrounding rooms were creaky and we therefore heard people moving about.
Good location Service was abysmal. Staff were useless apart from one girl - Tona - who was the only efficient member of staff.
I was charged 33.50 for breakfasts yet had paid for bed and breakfast was only told about 3.50 tray charge not that I had to pay for breakfast again this was not on the bill I was given with breakfast
The staff were very helpful and the bathroom was lovely. There is no parking - you have to park at an NCP car park. However, it is very close, and only cost about £7.00 for the night.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very well organised, food excellent. Despite a reported problem with the kitchen, breakfast was delivered quickly.
Beautiful hotel with a great location Wifi didn't work & staff didn't seem to be able to contact anyone so we had to check out 1 day earlier than planned
totally enjoyed our overnight stay room was of high standard staff were helpful and friendly, would have no hesitation in recommending hotel to anyone looking for a good city hotel.
boutique hotel, very nice and comfortable.
Wifi was not working and we were left to find out for ourselves after numerous connectivity attempts. Hotel could have put a note round to Wifi rooms
Staff polite, hotel clean and nicely furnished. The room was very small.
Nice and central for my needs. Room was small, but I asked for a single!
I got a discount when I complained about the hotel room etc. It was appalling - in need of a complete revamp and a new chef.
This hotel is lovely elegantly set out. The beds are comfortable and the rooms clean. The sink I the room I stayed in did not drain very well it took 30 minutes to do so. The stem wear had a huge smash on the side of it. I explained thsee issues to the front desk and was told 'oh dear' not given an apology for it.
Everything was very satisfactory We should have been informed about the reduced parking rate
The room was clean and the facilities were great. Being the first time I stopped there, I found the reception confusing as it stated it was a club reception, but I could not see another reception.
spaciousness and cleanliness of room, wonderful modernized bathroom, perfect location, great breakfasts no hotel parking
large spacious room and friendly reception staff-excellant overall very expensive minibar items
Staff very helpful
Staff were very accommodating and genuinely tried to be helpful. Very polite even when obviously very busy and perhaps over stretched. great location. a little bit noisy from nearby nightclub i think. fod running out at breakfast.
Comfy bed and room
breakfast good room hotel staff really nice staff did not let guests go first in the lift
Location and Room Size Breakfast below standard, Very uninviting Bar Area in reception.
the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was quite nice. I thought that I would get a more luxurious room for the price that i paid and since I booked a 'superior double room' - there were no biscuits, the bathroom was dated and freezing cold, the shower leaked all over the floor. I thought the room was very basic indeed and was disappointed with it. I would have got a better room at a travel lodge and it would have been cheaper!
Very central, it also has a good restaurant Room was a bit jaded, it needed painting, also sealing around the bath.
The price of the room was extremely reasonable and the breakfast was very good. The hotel also had free parking. My shower didn't work and I was allocated a smoking room, despite requesting a non-smoking room.
The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. On my first night I woke up sleep time disorientated and the night porter was fantastic. Not so much a didn't like, but the restaurant staff are so focused on what they are doing they miss the request for attention from customers - especially evening staff, so would suggest the odd upward gaze to see if any assistance is required.
Our room was much bigger than we expected as was the en suite.
very frendly staff
The entrance to the Hotel gave us a good feel about the place. We were impressed by the size of the bedroom and bathroom and it was extremely comfortable and well decorated. It was an easy walk to the theatre so no extra driving. Nothing
staff and convenience of location and parking and value
Average facilities Hotel had booked a wedding into the hotel and instead of allocating rooms immediately over the reception to wedding guests placed part of our group in a room where the walls were vibrating from the Disco downstairs. Hotel staff could have cared less and were completely unhelpful about rectifying the situation. Intend to write a strong letter of complaint to both the hotel and to best western upon my return from vacation. Quite a disastrous stay really.
good general standards throughout the hotel overall quality of the stay was let down by one staff member (waitress staff Tuesday & Wednesday) who demonstrated a complete disinterest in any task performed, could not complete simplest of tasks competently, was poor at deailing with own mistakes
The staff were friendly, excellent breakfast and the rooms were perfectly adequate for our stay. The room was extremely hot when we arrived - we had to turn down the heating and open the window!
I thought it was the staff at the hotel which made my stay enjoyable. They were incredibly helpful, warm and welcoming, and catered to my every need. I especially want to thank Kerry as she was a star. The room I stayed in which I payed 57 pounds for was up to date, clean, and comfortable. The drinks were reasonably priced, and I recommend the burger and homemade chips, they were lush. The hall ways and stairs are creaky!! But still a nice hotel.
It was a nice hotel there was a wedding party till 1am in the morning so there was loud music.
The size of the double beds are HUGE! all facilitys within the room you could ask for. a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you into town centre runs every 10mins at £1.60 for a adult. and the breakfast was amazing buffet style get as much or little as you please with cooked breakfast, fruit, yoghurt and pastrys couldnt wish for anymore
bar downstairs no wifi in room and tempermental tv. asked for 3 single beds but got a double and single
The hotel is in a very good location for nottingham city and is very pleasant to stay in most of the time
Except for one female at reception, everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was good in restaurant and at breakfast. Room was a very good size. Reception person was almost rude. Bathroom ceiling was full of mold, lampshades had huge amount of dust in the pleats and the dispensers for soap , etc. were too high up for a shorty like me.
I need to explain. I booked the Gateway Hotel Nottingham as a suprise for my daughter and son in law. Their comments are glowing the hotel receptionist was very helpful, friendly and made them feel special. The head waiter also went out of his way to make their stay great. Thankyou I couldnot have choose a better place for them
comfortable room very clean and spacious good location freindley staff
Easy to book in, pleasant staff, nice surroundings No
Friendly Welcome, Safe Parking, Simple Clean and comfortable Rooms - Great price, Convenient Location.
nothing The fact the car park had not gritted, causing an accident which my car was damaged which spoiled the overall stay.
good location for this hotel with being in the centre bathroom was dirty, room had been freshly painted so it smelt of that, was far too warm even with te windows open, clearly hadnt been refreshed/used recently or the cleaners dont have access to their dusters! - was disappointed as didnt expect this from a Brittania Hotel
Central location. The telephone in my room did not work and despite reporting the fact it was not repaired. The hotel was cold.
Nothing outstanding When we booked the room, we requested a room with a mini fridge. When we checked in the receptionist told us that the room has a mini fridge. When we got into the room we found that the mini fridge was removed so we asked if we could get another one or a different room. she straight away told us that the hotel was full and put the phone down on me. The room was quite dirty. The beds were sloping so we didn't get a good nite's sleep. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The room we got was very different to the ones in the hotel photos. It was pretty old
I only could emphasize the hotel location, close to the Nottingham Market Square. I didn't enjoy my stay in this hotel. The rooms need to be cleaned properly and the staff were no as kind as they have to be in this kind of bussines. They really don't have any interest in the guest.
The buffet breakfast was good. Everything else was poor. The front desk make you pay upfront, the website says Satelite TV, but only local channels.
The size of the room and the location
the hotel was central It was cold, the roooms were cold.. The televison had very little choice included in the price.and the furnishings were old and worn.
The location was excellent. It looked quite grotty from the outsaide but was gorgeous inside. The evening meal wasn't that great but the breakfast more than made up for it.
Clesnliness of bedroom, - stains on the wall, cracked broken tiles in the bathroo, cracked washbasin- decor and furnishings of room generally looked 'tired'.
I didn't like anything about this place, it was bad: 1. NO parking you pay extra per day. 2. Craked sink 3. paint work shabby, marked and stained 4. Noisy (traffic and other guests) 5. Carpets filthy and stained I could go on... So I will... Needed to let them know that there was water coming through the ceiling in the bathroom, meet a group of drunk people in the corrior carrying the drinks like it was a bar. Yet the staff just ignore it. This was only 11.30 and they were no their way out. So you the picture of the kind of hotel this is.
location to city very dated rooms
Nothing Avoid this hotel it's bad, the rooms smell and the hotel is full off prostitutes
Comfort and facilities of room. In room dining ws also very good. Internet access to be organised from my room without having to go back to reception for a voucher. Plug and play internet would be prefereable.
Everything was excellent - staff friendly, food good, room clean etc. Being very picky - there was only one large towel in the double room, there was over 70 lights switched on at breakfast time - if the hotel is cutting down on energy use with towels then the use of lights might want to be investigated. My paper wasn't delivered - although when I questioned it at reception they gave me an alternative and took off the charge.
treatments & pool found the bar cold - air con and sometimes in loung area
friendly stafff, facilities excellent lack of air conditioning
Staff very friendly and helpful. Dinner in the evening was very nice. Close to the M1 so easy to find and also the park and ride is very close by. The trams are very effiecient and run quite frequently into the City Centre. Breakfast was slightly dissapointing.
Friendly staff who appeared genuine Had to wait over 45 minutes for a room service order
The use of the swimming pool and gym. The breakfast was very good also, varied in the selection of food offered and good value. The hotel was exceptionally clean. The restaurant was expensive for what it was and the portions shockingly small. The staff were friendly but quite disorganised- there were a number of mix ups during our two night stay. The location was not pleasant, it felt like you were actually on the M1 and certainly not in Nottingham. It was too far out of town for me, I would not stay there again.
The staff were all very well mannered and polite and most of all they all spoke English clearly which made them easy to understand
The staff were very friendly the breakfast was very nice we had a room with a balcony and it was extra special. The whole experience had a laid back and chilled atmosphere Highly recommended.
Well presented hotel, very well designed. Hard bed. Wedding partys very loud. Bar prices excessive.
The location and staff were great, everythign was clean, good choice of food for breakfast, comfortable bar area. Room was right next to the lift, which was in constant use. The noise from this meant didnt have a very good nights sleep. That was in my opinion the only fault.
surroundings ie reception, boulevard area room was very hot throughout the night, however air conditioning was available.
Location, deal on price, bar and restuarant area Booking not found initially at reception as it was not made by surname, room was small compared to similarly priced hotels, had to fix tv as the ariel had fallen out of back
The hotel was very comfortable and excellent value for money. Parking was easy (although a tad expensive) and the location of the hotel was superbly placed for shopping or nights out in the city centre
Hotel as a good atmosphere Check in really bad - computer system down Tried 3 x times to check in from 11:00 fianlly managed to check in 17:10
Location to the theatres and shops
Very clean hotel Additional car parking price.
Wonderful breakfast in a pleasant setting. My wife & I really enjoyed it, all round good value. They did forget to clean our room, but this was rectified very quickly
the gorgeous bed!
central location Request for non smoking room preferred was not met and we were placed in a smoking room
Very friendly staff Excellent location Poor service encountered on two or three occasions (details below). Room was cold: the heating did not function effectively.
the health spa facilities early bar closure
Hotel was convenient for visiting Nottingham. Good bus service to city centre Room was a bit small. Supposedly for two persons, but only on chair. Corridors and leisure club changing rooms needed upgarding and redecoration. Chairs in bar area were uncomfortable.
The staff were totally wonderful. We visited for the third time in twelve months and were treated as though we were family returning on a home visit. Reception staff couldn't do more and Vicky in the restaurant was fantastic. We have a daughter with physical disabilites and all of your staff treated her with utmost respect. We will return next year and will stay with you if Nottingham host the National CP Boccia champs again. Who knows we may visit the theatre again? Many thanks for the opportunity to give feedback.its greatly deserved.
The staff where very helpful. The room and food was of a good standard. We would stay again. Thank you.
Closeness to centre & free parking
using spa facilities
Not a great deal It was very hard to find.. Even when I telephoned staff and recieved very poor directions I ended up driving around nottingham city for over an hour. I also found it was far to far to walk into the city as implyed by the advertisment. The breakfast was also extornitonatley priced.
Friendly staff. Good gym and pool facilities. Restaurant service was a bit slow, but bar snacks were good.
Easy access to the city. Room was nice and clean. Hotel staff were friendly. Dinner portions too small. Surely you can do better with the pillows. Too saggy.
it was very professional and comfortable and had a pleasent weekend staying there with my partner.
Comfort / location Complained about damp / stained towels
Comfortable room, pleasant helpful staff
Staff were excellent The hotels really nice it just needs updating as the bathrooms are really dated.
The room When i arrived the person on reception apologised that there had been a problem with the room booking. He offered me a free room upgrade, I accepted. He then couldnt find a room to upgrade me into and apologised that there were no rooms with which to upgrade me. I suggested free breakfast would suffice. On checking with the manager - free breakfast wasnt on offer.
un-obtrusive staff, fantastic standard of our room bar prices.
Comfort and surroundings. Service and breakfast was brilliant.
Comfortable good sized room Breakfast very poor value limited selection of fruit Croissantes not fresh
The overall look of the hotel and the decor of the bedroom was very pleasing. Breakfast was very expensive as compared to similarly priced hotels in Paris, Dublin and Prague.
position and car parking
The service and staff are great, in factt they were exceptional, breakfast excellent. Good Parking Rooms are getting a bit dated, slight odour from bathroom, however it appeared clean . Room rates were high compared other more central hotels. If staying again I would avoid standard room
the leisure facilties were excellent, not being able to pay by visa electron was a downer as i had previuosly paid this way at the same hotel in walsall. breakfast was very nice be warned it can b a very noisy hotel if there is a wedding party, as my fiance and i found out....fast asleep at 2am and drunken youths etc are literally trying to hammer ur door down and being rowdy and had to to go out the door and sort them out.
Location Very cold room on arrival. Queueing at breakfast - a free for all - despite beng advised to go early. We believe this was to try and clear the breadkfasts out of the way early. Reception staff on booking in too busy talking to pals whilst booking us in.
swimming pool & facilities Layout of rooms confusing
Staff and facilities Extremely difficult to find. Directions did not mention it was on a retail park. This would have made it much easier.
health suite and gym was good. Swimming pool was good Room service was very basic with no health options It was also noisy due to railway
Location was good close to amenities.Pool was good, staff were uhelpful especially reception, breakfast was good, room a bit shabby and tired looking
Reception staff were most helpful, polite and friendly.
fitness facilities beds too short
Walking round the local nature reserve Receptionists are always so uninterested in customers these days - really unwelcoming
the choice and variety, the hotel/pub was was great
Staff very pleasant and attentive. Sausages at breakfast were very nice Glass of white wine reasonably priced and pleasant Hotel grubby, shabby and noisy (linen clean though) It looked derelict from the outside and in the throes of a rather patchy, amatuer renovation job inside. My room was pokey, grubby (carpet, curtains and walls) with an ensuite that had seen better days (soap dish hanging off the wall and a nasty plastic curtain). It fronted on to a very busy road that resembled a racing track in terms of noise, all night - the windows did nothing to mute the noise. Even at £37 ish, with breakfast, it was wildly over priced for it's current condition.
The location and breakfast were excellent, room and bathroom were large. Hopefully once the refurbishment is complete all amenities will be available. Wish someone had thought about where the radio & alarm clock should be placed as on headboard, just at head height in middle of bed, was NOT well thought out!
the breakfast and the friendliness of the management.
None Our room got broken into..My laptop was stolen also all my partner's clothes was stolen... Hotel would not refunded us our money back for the room as we were so distress to stay in the hotel overnight...
the location was good and the staff were very friendly the beds were uncomfortable
lost for words
Within easy reach of public transport, shops and restaurants. Apparently, it has not been refurbished for very very long time. Room and bathroom stuffy.
The people working in the reception had little knowledge about the city and their univeritiees. No city maps available.
the bar was nice and ok the hotel needs to be updated the breakfast was ok but i came in at 8 after everyone was gone it looked like a camp site
Convenient location. Good car park out of sight of main road. Hot water not always available. Breakfast very slow at being served at the weekend. Dodgy lock on room door.
Room was clean and tidy On booking in reception could not find my reservation
Centrally convenient, staff dealt with minor issue immediately
The cleanliness that you would expect at a modern new hotel together with the price
Fab place to stay, in the centre of Nottingham. No noise of note, friendly staff. Everything was great
Very clean, the hotel had all the facilities we needed for a one night stay None
It was ideally situated in the Lace Market area and although on a busy road, it was very quiet at nightNotg Not enough pilows on the bed
The best thing about this hotel is the location. However for the price, it was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and bathroom functional. I would choose to stay here again if I was visiting Nottingham. The wifi Internet and breakfast were very expensive for a budget hotel!
Clean and centrally located Parking expensive. No free Wi-Fi. No hair-dryer supplied in room.
Staff are courteous Better if toothpaste ,slippers etc simple disposible consumables are provided.
Location perfect, hotel staff superb!! Hotel room clean tidy and well stocked :) There's nothing to write!!
More Channels on TV in the hotel rooms; Nottingham Buses did not know about Hotel P&J, Although it is on the main derby road and nearby a bus stand. If it is a common bus point every stanger can approach this hotel from airport. about 25pounds can be saved via bus from airport.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast good. The shower and bedroom were nicely decorated and clean. The room was small with very little storage space. ok for one night only.
Quiet hotel and breakfast was very good. Convenient for getting to the hospital and University. This hotel was a little expensive compared to other hotels of same standard. Room was a little outdated and shower needed improving/replacing.
Friendly reception The bed mattress was far worn out, very unpleasant sleep. Bathroom shower weak, difficult to set good water temperature. Window looking on very busy noisy road.
nothing particulary the fact that the bedroom reminded me of stay with my great nan and she has been dead 20 years. The sharing of facilites - bathroom and toilet
Close to local ammenities Unsatisfactory greeting/felt a very unwelcome hinderance to the member of staff. Bathroom and room appeared dirty,or in need of serious updating.bed sheets old and off colour. Facilities not explained/breakfast not started until 08.00 therefore went without.
The staff was simply wonderful!! Thanks so much and a cooked breakfast alwys a treat. I spoiled myself and took a double room just for me- room 10 and was in heaven.
The breakfast is fine. The room is clean. The staffs were helpful The heating system in the room is bad. Its really freezing in the room. Car park also very limited
The room was big, clean and comftable, all what you need when you are travelling
The food was very good and the restaurant staff were extremely efficient and pleasant. We enjoyed our weekend in the hotel, which was ideally situated for the Arena but we were not impressed with Nottingham ,as a city.
the rooms and facilities were fantastic. Located on the river gave a very nice view in an otherwise busy city.
Clean and comfortable Couldn't get room heater to work properly
Helpful, friendly staff. Spotlessly clean room. Self-control room heater a thoughtful touch. Food and service excellent. On the spot car park. Traffic noise from nearby road.
The staff was excellent, helpful, friendly and have good humor. Nothing
It was excellent value, centerally located and nice and clean
Proximity to Nottingham Station. No reduction in price for not being to partake of breakfast due to early departure. Failure of electronic door lock on room door.
Free parking, close to city centre and football stadiums
Nice big bed, plenty of pillows, clean and quiet When I phoned Reception I got no reply. The Wake Up call facility on my phone did not work.
Good location. Clean, comfortable and polite staff. Only 2 tea bags in the room! Shower was a difficult to adjust to get hot water.
Visited family and friends
access to main roads i ordered a paperI was told it was left on tjh floor outside my room but someone had stolen it and ther were no more
Clean, friendly staff, good location
I found the location of the hotel ideal for accessing the area both with regard to Nottingham and Derby. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the service was good.
Staff friendliness, good access from Motorway.Breakfast very good.
size and layput of room, especially loo separate from bathroom
good room size
Freedom to do what we wanted. No time pressure to leave early. Heating slightly suspect.
Convenient and comfortable for an overnight business stop. Cost of breakfast is excessive.
communal areas were lovely The room could be modernised
The building and location. Crying babies being brought into the bar area from Wedding Reception.
Old World character of the hotel. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff The hotel was slightly tired looking. Needed refurbishment. Also not very easy to find.
The building and location n/a
Impressive manor in the middle of a green park. To visit at least once in your life! Very English. Value for money.
Friendly helpfull staff, good value and location
Access to second floor size of room allocated less than I was expecting from BW
The situation of the hotel in an attractive setting and helpfulness of staff The hole in the ceiling of our room where a central light had been removed. It looked unsightly and spoiled the whole effect of decoration
The bar Hallway noise
If you like a old manor style of Hotel with character set in acres of ground, this is it. Apparently the staff do not receive the tips!
Pre-refurb-style bed which was really comfortable not the usual slab of concrete I have come to expect from Premier Inn. Pillows too soft and very uncomfortable. Staff in restaurant calling me Hun and Love constantly.
very good welcome @ reception room big enough and comfortable. room smelt of urine but otherwise clean and comfortable
Room was a good size and very clean. Overlooking the car park and reasonably quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Rooms overlooking the restaurant area may be noisier - we stayed on a Saturday night and there were quite a few people outside when we arrived at 11pm. The other side was quieter.
Very clean + good value for money, and very friendly efficient staff. It was also extremely convenient so close to the m1 and right next to the tram line to get into Nottingham! The Beefeater restaurant on the premises was also very convenient.
Excellent staff and reception on arrival Very uncomfortable bed
Friendly staff, helpful, good location for trams into city, conveniently situated and easy to drive to.
good value, beefeater was very good.
Handy location off M1
Ease of access to the City centre and restaurant No
easy access to town and the food weather
