Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were OK but room was on the small side and showing its age Failure to deliver on services that were paid for and the lack of staff when we needed them early in the morning for an airport transfer
The staff was very friendly and the price was great.
Location Noisy, not that clean, breakfast not good, ac not working
Staff at the reception was gentle Internet not working. Bathroom in poor state. Coffee at breakfast was... green (yes!). Even worse during Ramadan because the restaurant was only proposing the same buffet each evening (quality of the food questionable). Tunisian people calls it an "Hotel for Lybians".
ratio between price and quality
Your helpful staff Getting in and out of the centre by taxi proved difficult on occasions
Nice location, clean room. both the lifts were not working. bathroom was not too clean.
Good breakfast selection. Helpful staff. Convenient location to shopping, Medina, train station, tram, theater and restaurant. Air conditioning was not optimized for comfort. In other words, the room never cooled down to a comfortable temperature.
Very friendly, comfortable hotel in excellent location for Medina nad other city sitess and transport. Small enough for a relaxing nd personal experience. Some of the food we had in the Dome restaurant was really superb.
The hotel is well placed close to the Medina. Staff speak a little English but it is better if you speak French. The pillows are just dreadful!
I think that the breakfast and dinner room on the ground floor had a nice ambiance and served very good food. The bedroom was also attractive and spacious. Service was efficient at the desk. Communication could be improved at the desk. It was not clear whether internet access was free in the lobby. I did not know that the rooftop bar was closed and had actually planned to spend an evening there.
The main areas and the welcome from the night receptionist keep your wits around you if you happen to fancy a late or early walk in the vicinity
The location which is in the city center. WIFI not available at the room
Location is only good point. Wi-Fi could not be used. I could not get the receipt for a taxi to the airport, though the hotel receptionist said that I could get it from taxi driver. In addition, the level of taxi driver the hotel arranged was very poor. He take me to the different terminal.
The cleaning ladies maintained the room cleanly everyday. The breakfast was rather simple and untintersting. The room rate was high for foreign visitors compared with that of locals.
Not many tourists
The staff were very helpful, no fridge,no safe,no free internet, shower door would not open completely due to the position of the sink,I had to go sideways into the shower.I found it strange that the fee charged by booking.com was slightly higher than the published official room rate. What was the advantage of booking early???Also the hotel gave me my change in Dinars but would only take Euro notes.....and you cannot change dinars back to Euros without an official receipt.Breakfast was 6 to 8,one morning coffee was not ready until 6.45.
Location, price and comfort. Firstly, services were slow. Secondly, all the answering machines are only in French. It's an Arab country so Arabic language should be used in the answering machines. Even English should be used because it's an international language.
In my first day the hot water on taps was limited.
The location is good and rooms are good for tunisian standards I suggest they also review this hotel on ratings on discrimantion, a group of middleaged men, part of the staff of the hotel, dressed in polyester suits standing in front of the main entrance , with a lot of attitude and arogancy , refuse entrance to the hotel to any tunisian person, my longtime tunisian friends who wanted to come visit me during my stay in the africa hotel , were rudely and very impolite refused entrance and turned away , not even handing over their papers and making copies of their passports which I suggested in last resort to still make it possible for them to enter the hotel was rudly denied by an also arrogant and very unfriendly recepsionist....this is discrimination ....and unacceptable !!
Clean room, spacious and central location. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Overpriced, Dar El Medina was the same price and much better value for money. The reception staff were not very friendly.
the location of the hotel and the lac view quality of the food in ramdan month
Very very bad food. And the staff are unfriendly.
Very good view, very good breakfast very expensive, can be 4 stars but not 5
the quietness, the lake view, the help of the support staff at the hotel, the nice location and easy access to places of visit. the choice for breakfast is limited.
the staff was very polit the A/C is not working , i ask the reception about that he tell me we are in the cold seson so the A/C in all hotel in Tunis is off, and one time when i was at the bath the electrcity swiched off and after 10 min came back
attention to small details like making sure that if you had coffee or tea in the room to replace the items (coffee/tea/milk) everymorning.
Spaciousnous of the foyer and bar staff very helpful Food and drinks manager extremely helpful Lack of adequate heating in the bedroom. Also shower facility not good, an unpleasant and unrefreshing experience, almost an ordeal: cramped
Room staff and doorman were great buffet food could have been better
staff were friendly and rich breakfast The hotel location was far away from city centre and did not match as specified in booking.com
Staff was good, hotel is ok but nothing special Poor value for money, but this is Tunis is big names is expensive. Other guests got better rate from local companies
Quietness of the location. Watch out on the Beauty Saloon they can rip you off. It is unfortunate in a name like Sheraton such organisation can be left uncontrolled to abuse their possition.
Very comfortable, staff friendly.
ok, not great, but fine for short visits
great nothing special. Except Hotels in Tunisia there is no real Non Smoking policy!!!
nothing at all the that is not a hotel, very dirty and nothing in the room. bqd service and no breafast nothing at all the that is not a hotel, very dirty and nothing in the room. bqd service and no breafast it is not q recommended hotel
The 1930s-type design and atmosphere of the hotel was great, as was the well-patronised restaurant. Absolutely plagued by mosquitoes in our room at night, ruined two out of three nights' sleep.
the position not clean include restaurant
Very good situation, kind personal.
I would like honesty of the staffs. The honesty in saying things obout the hotel, explanations, etc.
Only one person was polite, and that was the General Manager The hotel is in a dreadful location. The street it's on is filthy with heaps of rubbish, car repair shops, and broken sidewalks, making it virtually impossible to walk anytime. The hotel itself is in dire need of a complete overhaul. The building is very old and it shows. Also, the staff is quite rude and lose their temper at the slightest comment. Breakfast (tea/coffee & toast) was never ready on time, and the all-male bar crowd is quite loud and rowdy all night.
Room big, comfortable and clean. Food good. Staff gentle. Not blue towels in bathrooms. Seem not to be very clean.
The room was rather big and quiet. The bathroom was clean. The carpet in the room was extremely dirty, and the staff was not helpful. There is nothing around - if you want to go out in the evening, you'd have to take a taxi to the center (I wouldn't recommend walking in the evening, it's not a very pleasant area).
Very good value for the money!
Clean and value oriented budget hotel. Facilities are good for the money, wireless available, and quite a decent breakfast compared to other places in Tunis. Good for a solo traveler.
It was a good hotel. Not a Sheraton but nice and confortable. Godd food and happy people all around. The price is amazin!
The location is in a very poor grubby part of the city! It was extemely noisy however it was fairly cheap and drnks and food at the hotel were fairly priced. They advertise WI FI for free in the rooms. Could barely get online long enough to do anything ithout it cutting out!
the staff my room
Excellent location for transportation to airport and to train station while at walking distance to Tunis medina Very noisy room (ear plug required).Cleanliness of the room was poor. Internet access was difficult to set-up and staff was unaware of WiFi procedure/limitations.
The location is very central and ideal for business. Availability of transport is so conducive with the bus station next door and ease of taxis The location of the dining room is a bit interfering with the other hotel activities.
Excellent location for accessing airport and visiting Tunis medina Very noisy room (ear plug required).Cleanliness of the room was poor. Internet access was difficult to set-up and staff was unaware of WiFi procedure/limitations.
please kindly be informed that as soon we arrived to Vime Tunis hotel ,our booking in this hotel via booking .com was for 3 rooms including breakfast actually we find booking for 2 rooms not including breakfast than they provide us with the other room after showing the booking confirmation again in the morning as soon we come for breakfast they informed us that the deal they have with booking .com only for room rent not including breakfast, after that we solf the problem with the reservation manager after log desiccation witch is not fair , next time i will not use or recommend this hotel to any bady. Nathing
It is the best value money None
The hotel was very new and very clean. Got upgraded to a suite which was extremely large and well furbished. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. Location not in the center but still manageable (however taxi do not know the location well since it is a new hotel). Bed mattress was very hard (I guess still brand new). Wifi did work in the room but could not connect to my Outlook. The hotel had no license to sell alcohol.
the rooms are very big the service at breakfast was very poor. There was no coffee available, you have to ask the server for it ans takes quite a long time. The firs day I had to ask it twice.
The hotel has nothing to do with 5stars hotels. the service and teh room is not 5 stars
Nothing 1- when I checked in they told me I have no booking 2-the bids un comfortable for 5 stars hotel.3- the staff cooperate with Taxi driver for extra money(trip from hotel to airport it cost 6 td I Paid 45 td plus 5 td because he have no change
The Ambassadeurs Hotel was a good place to stay, the beds are incredible! The buffet breakfast was horrible! , the hotel is not well situated since is to far from the medina, souk and principal avenue that is nice to walk, there was a woman in the reception that was not nice at all since I made her questions about how to get to Sidi Abu Said and she answered in a bad mood, she doesn´t like occidentals, but the other guys in the reception were nice
Convenient start point for travel through Tunisia Disappointed at requests for low-value Tunisian change at bar having only just arrived in country
I was satisfied with my staying at this hotel. It was clean enough and good-located. The only regret is that the breakfast was nothing special even though it was edible enough. But I can recommend this hotel with the exception of the breakfast.
The location of hotel give it the big advantage, and free high speed wireless connection is amazing. The Picture give a wrong imprestion of hotel status, i find the the disapplity sign in pictures but nothing in found in hotel.
Very well working free wi-fi, renewed room, nice doble bed. Juices in the breakfast don't taste so good
The staff were excellent. always cheerful and extremely helpful. A credit to the dar! The room was spacious and always clean. On return to our room on Monday there was a welcome basket of fruit and water. That was the only time such a gesture was made. We never met the owners which we thought strange. In most 'boutique' riads we have stayed the owners make an effort to introduce themselves. Breakfast was predictable ie. the same every day. Slice of cake ( which got smaller as the days went on) cucumber, tomatoes and processed cheese then a roll and pancake were brought out and last an egg which on only one day could one say it was a 3 minute egg. On the other days it took 10 minutes to receive what was supposed to be a 3 minute egg but was closer to 5! Very disappointing. There was noise every night as if someone was moving furniture around.
very individual, characterful hotel, excellent central location, need to approach on foot as it is in medina .Breakfast rather "local" in taste.Phone charges high, Intl = 3.5 TD /min
Friendly, kindly, and it was nice building,
The staff at the Dar El Medina were extremely helpful at all times, looked after us very well and went out of their way to make our stay a good one. We cannot recommend highly enough. The hotel is in a beautiful building, with great terraces, and well placed in the medina.
THe hotel was very atttractive, very well located, very helpful staff ... the best place to stay ih Tunis.
nice staff, nice location, nice design should have a TV and a mini-bar in a room
The breakfast was the best we had in Tunisia. The rooms look out onto a central courtyard that can be noisy. Some staff did not speak English. The hotel lost our booking and had to move us to another hotel for the third night.
All staff are fantastic and polite and professional. 10 kudos to all the Staff.Amazing. Sort the internet issues that most customers raise. More routers or wired access in rooms are immediate remedies. Very frustrating to stand in the corridor under the router or descend to the MB reception at 23:15 so as to skype or viber someone.
Very spacious, fitted out to a high standard. Very evocative of the image of 'North African luxury' - e.g. separate bath and shower, all facilities usually associated with a suite but tastefully Tunisian in style Only thing missing was coffee-making facilities
Old Hotel without maintenance. Carpet in the corridors are orrible, broken and dirty. The room don't smell good.
complete privacy 1- The carpet of the corridor leading to the room.2- The shortage of enough towels in the bath rom 3- The high elevation of the bath tub. 4- The unsanitay handling of the food by the hotel staff at the resturant during serving breakfast; Touching everything by bare hands with no blastic gloves in public was frightening to me.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable and was convenient to the airport. The restaurant and bar staff were not efficient, friendly or helpful.
Decent, if expensive, in hotel restaurant. Front desk staff was weak and dishonest. When requested to provide a non-smoking room they said they would move to me one, but it was not actually a non-smoking room and it smelled. Then they said that there were no available non-smoking rooms in the entire half-empty hotel. Then another manager "discovered" that they actually had one, which they gave to me. General Manager's office promised that he would call me, but he never did. Conclusion: Weak management.
The pool, water slides and beach were excellent. The rooms were comfortable and we enjoyed the tunisian food. Lots of relaxing. The shows at night were great and our whole family enjoyed it. Yes, the snacks in the middle of the day that were free of charge would run out and definitely not enough for the all the guests at the hotel. Also the Tennis courts and mini golf need renovation and better upkeep. The website should be clear that the water slides cost money and are not part of the all inclusive package. Also that towels are not provided for the pool nor beach, and you must buy your own or bring your own.
I liked the pool area and the outside space, it's a good family hotel for people who just want to stay in a beachside without doing anything else, lots of outside areas. The service at the reception was a full disaster, no informations what's so ever of anything for travellers. The reception manager should not be there, he does not has the capacity to run it.
