Very new and nice hotel. Very big hotel that has hundreds of people in the lobby at a given time. Never had a bad stay there and service is good. But always feel like I am a convention when I stay there.
When we checked in there was a candy wrapper on floor, pieces of trash in closet and a small piece on bathroom floor. I had to call housekeeping to clean our room Saturday after 4:30 pm. They didn't wipe the tops of bedside tables that needed it. Parking service was a nightmare. Long wait times.
I liked how friendly the staff was. The entire place is super clean and nice. Accessible to many great restaurants and 6th st. Also there's a lake only two blocks away! The only reason why I didn't give it a five stars rating is because the entrance to the parking lot is so busy. They only had one entrance and unless you valet you were waiting to get into the garage. On the upside the wait was less than 7 minutes. Also the pool bar needs more kore bartenders. The pool attendees were really nice once you flag them down for attention.
The location was awesome, the staff was super friendly and very accommodating, the room was clean and had an amazing view of downtown. Overall it was perfect for a couple of girlfriends and I to getaway and explore austin. One thing that I didn't like was that the pool was extremely crowded every day and night that we were there. There was barely room to get IN the pool (you were pretty much shoulder to shoulder in there) let alone find a chair to relax on because they were all taken. We were really excited about the pool too but turns out it wasn't so relaxing. That's my only complaint tho, this hotel was amazing so I can't blame everyone wanting to be there and to enjoy the pool as well.
Everything! Beautiful room, beautiful city, excellent location.
The JW is centrally located to the Austin downtown area and many trendy restaurants and bars were within walking distance. In addition, the room, staff and on-site restaurants were excellent. When I spend that amount of money for a nightly accommodation, WiFi and Internet need to be a part of the package.
Rooms very average...In addition it was very noisy, could hear everything going on opening/closing of doors.. etc.
Great gym/workout facility Very comfortable room Love the full length windows and light Great location Charge $$$ for wifi Noise from the street was surprisingly loud, even on the 30th floor
Nice room Never received a wake up call
the proximity to 6th street
Loved the new rooms and the pool was quite nice. Wish it didn't cost me so much
Free breakfast at Exsecutive Floor When check-in, rate of room charge are mininput higer.
They deleted my cc on file and charged my debit card twice
Hotel was nice, close to everything, view from 19th floor was really nice facing 6th street. Nice fridge in the room and room was comfortable. Parking was easy although pricey. was a nice stay Don't want to be overly negative here as I had a good stay, however couple things I like to point out. Movies are expensive to rent from on-demand most people probably won't, but 20 bucks seems high to me. (This unfortunately left a bad taste) Although there was nothing to say which line is for Honors members, if your not an Honors member and get in a long line to check in and that line happens to be for Honors members expect some Hilton person to look disgusted and call you out in front of everyone and divert you to another line like a red headed step-child. Basically if you stay at Hilton you better be an Honors member or your just some poor trash that needs to stay clear of the decent upstanding Honors members.
The renovations on the main hotel level were unexpected and, when done, will no doubt be places to see and be seen...this trip though, could be provided at a discount.
Great rooms and perfect location Staff was incredibly rude and continually incompetent
Very close to sixth street and convenient if you want to go out for a night on the town. Beds and rooms were very clean. Would def recommend to anyone or stay there again.
The staff was extremely helpful and alert to guests needs. It was an amazing hotel in an amazing city!
I just stayed in a hotel in California that was in need of updates. Once I stayed here in Austin, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on what was missing in that last hotel. The appointments were very modern, and there were USB ports everywhere. The lighting was all intelligently integrated, with functions that turned every light on from the door way, or just the entry, or a night light in the bathroom. The bathroom was very nice, not too big, not too small. I noticed that it had been impeccably up kept and that there wasn't damage from mold or anything like that. It's close to everything you want to do in downtown austin, though if you're looking for a run around or along the lake, you might be better off driving there. The lobby was under construction, but that's not really a big deal. I'm assuming that most facilities have to look like that if they are going to modernize.
excellent staff it was hard to get used to no shower door, but workable.
The aesthetics, restaurant, staff and amenities were excellent. The bed was so comfortable! The only problems were that the shower took literally 20 minutes to get hot, (10 to just get warm) and I realized in the morning that I could hear every single person in the nearby rooms and out in the hall, clear as day. So if you are concerned about privacy, or don't want to hear what your neighbors are doing, you might want to go somewhere else. Otherwise, the place was wonderful.
Super comfortable, helpful staff, close to EVERYTHING! Also, the room service was great. Try the tacos at 3am!
The view in our room overlooked the lake & it was simply gorgeous! The staff was very friendly and very attentive. We brought our dog & she was the star of the show. They provided a dog bed & food bowls for her. The beds were so comfortable! Our bathrooms got clogged twice (not by any extra doing on our part). And our refrigerator never got cold so leftovers had to get thrown away from our dinner earlier that day. Geraldine's gets pretty packed at night, at least inside & there's one fireplace outside we tried to huddle around to keep warm.
The hotel is beautiful and well designed. Staff was friendly. "Wine hour" was fun, and very popular the night we were there. Bikes are free to rent and a great way to travel around the neighborhood. Upsold to "lake view" room where you can really only see a sliver of the lake. It should be called "pool view" and on the weekend we stayed, the "pool view" is not relaxing or romantic. The rooms aren't quiet, you can hear everything that happens in the hallway. Valet was expensive ($36 + tip in Austin!) and slow due to volume of folks checking out. Cars are parked in an uncovered lot across the street.
Chatty & friendly at check-in, popping cold beers to welcome us. 3 Public Bikes waiting for us in lobby so we could explore Austin. Guy pumped up the tires for us. Around corner to great bars on Rainey Street. Friendly folks. Just a perfect short stay. Nothing.
Great service and wait staff N/a
The Four Seasons Austin is a magical place. The building and grounds are the best of the best. Austin is a beautiful city and the Four Seasons helped us to enjoy and experience this great city. We asked the Concierge what there was to do in Austin. He told us that he might be able to get us tickets to see Wicked. He did. The performance was sold out and was truely amazing. As great as the hotel was, the staff were even better. Why do we like the Four Seasons so much--because the staff provide a level of service that we experience no where else. My wife told me that they made her feel like the most important person in the world. We want to go back to Austin, to spend more time at the Four Seasons and to spend more time in this very special city.
Horrible stay overall given that this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel which it is NOT. It has one outdoor pool which is off the other side of the hotel and barely heated for our stay. Spa also terrible with no whirlpool, sauna. Only a small steam room in each locker room. Room and view were nice in downtown Austin, but that is about it. No tennis courts nor golf and only 3 or 4 spa treatment rooms. Gym area pointless with only a few treadmills and free weights. Will not stay again given price and lack of amenities. How is this 5 star??? not a typical four seasons for sure!!
I was expecting to be wowed at the four seasons, particularly given the price. I found the hotel to be nothing special. Everything was just ok. The staff was friendly, but then again, everyone in Austin is friendly. I could not believe they charged for wi-fi. That was really a cheap move. The spa was alright, small with not much atmosphere. The entire experience was just alright. I did feel a bit ripped off for the price. The are many hotels in the area for substantially less money with the same features. I would explore other options if I return.
My husband, two kids (5 years and 2 1/2 years old) and myself took a vacation to Austin, Texas for a couple of days and we decided to stay at the Four Seasons. Because there is construction going on City side of the hotel, we upgraded to a Lakeview Suite. The Lakeview suite was double the money and then some -- but we figured, Hey, we are on vacation and for that price, this has got to be luxurious. Well, I'm sorry to say that I was very disappointed with both the size and the look of the suite. It was much smaller than I anticipated and the furnishings were very basic. Just a basic pull out sofa -- no frills at all. The bathroom was very small and very plain looking. My husband and I have travelled a lot before and this room was most definitely not worth the price tag. That being said, everything else, and I mean everything, was superb. The service was incredible, everyone was polite and we were all treated like celebrities. Honestly, the staff is wonderful and made us all as comforta...
Very friendly and professional hotel staff. Very timely room service. The Outdoor space on the river side of the hotel could be spruced up, but it's not bad.
Yes all of the above! This hotel goes above and beyond to meet your personal needs. Nope
The charm and the location. The bar was also fun and lively. Rooms were a little dated.
I was somewhat disapointed in my stay at Four Seasons Austin. I expected it to be a wow hotel and it was just nice. Very expensive when there were lots of other good places nearby for less. the hotel charged for wi-fi, come on ! You could get it for free at coffee shops now. Cheap! Up graded to balcony room on river view side, you could only stand on balcony! No chair or table, no room for one! What was the point? Staff was friendly, everyone in Austin was friendly. room was clean, I expect that in a good hotel. Spa was okay, not very inviting, small bad view. I would not bother to stay here again. Not up to par with other Four Seasons I've been to, not worth the price.
I attended a conference at this hotel, so the rate was much below market rate. I upgraded from a Cityview room to a Lakeview room. The two rooms are identical, the only difference is the view, so decide if the view is worth the extra. In my case, I thought it might be quieter facing the lake, and it gave me a fabulous view of the bridge where the famous Austin bats emerge each night. The room was attractive and comfortable. I liked that the small fridge in the room containing items you have to pay for could be emptied out and filled with my own items. Room service charges were exhorbitant: $ total for a salad with seared chicken on it, and the greens were not fresh by the time I got the meal. Outside of meals provided by the conference, I didn't eat at the hotel. Service was wonderful. One weird thing is that they don't put a book in your room acquainting you with the locations of all their services (pool, spa, ice machines, etc.) When I asked about it, the desk clerk immedia...
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to the location for the wedding we were attending.
Great location for access to entertainment. Excellent buffet breakfast to tide us through the day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cigarette butts in surrounding walkway near the river. Nearby ash tray. People are pigs. Sofa bed sheets pretty rough.
Good room nice both room
Location and price. The front desk person was not accommodating. Had booked a king bed for my wife and I and at check in was simply told they don't have one and that we would need to take a room with 2 double beds instead if her upgrading us to a different room w a king. Upon arrival at our room, the keys did not work and then had to move rooms
The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was excellent and the location is great if you want to hit the downtown Austin touristy stuff (which is plentiful). The bathroom was extremely small (you had to step outside the bathroom to dry off), and rather weirdly, the toilet was shallow -- which I mention because you WILL get wet using this toilet. Very uncomfortable for a man. Never seen a toilet like that, and I hope to never see another one again. The AC didn't work well and was a bit noisy.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful here and the price was better than most hotels in the city. We really enjoyed our stay here! Valet parking is pricey
Good front desk service Checkout isn't till 11pm. House keeping kept trying to come in before 9am , kept waking us up twice!
Very close to downtown clubs and restaurants. Good restaurant on 18th floor. Safe area. Very tiny pool. Really it was the same size as the spa. It was just for cooling off.
The staff was amazing. Very nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for what we wanted. The room was a bit muggy and humid.
Breakfast was delicious, beds were adjustable, room had great amenities, very clean, greatly enjoyed my stay The hallways were a little loud
The location is excellent for Austin downtown activities Poor Internet connection
Convenient location $16 a plate for breakfast with no warning. $30 mandatory valet with no warning.
Wonderful view of town lake from this room. Great room size. The attached parking garage was a poor value and the hotel lets unauthorized persons take up the handicapped parking spaces.
The people were really nice and helpful I would have been great to know about the bat bridge and other things to do in Austin when checking in. Almost a poster or something to give more detail. Really liked the location and the staff was stellar!!
great friendly staff in the very reasonably priced TGI Fridays bar (this was SXSW festival week) pity they didn't stay open later during the early part of SXSW week as they would have persuaded many older festival goers to make it back to the bar towards the end of the night! lots of noise from our room overlooking Chaves/ Congress junction could do with triple glazing on that side of the hotel
The RHS has one big asset. The location of the hotel is right on the "bat-bridge." Hotel is just three stars. Nice. Clean. Serviceable. Devoid of luxury.
Location, downtown Austin on the Lake, close to walking and jogging trails, close to restaurants and entertainment My suites were not available due to some booking issues through booking.com. Something about a credit card not being charged to hold the rooms. I was not notified by booking.com. Fortunately the hotel management found us two rooms, but they were not suites -- small rooms with a bed and couch.
Perfect view of Town Lake. The city was within walking distance. The sleep number bed was a plus! The hotel did not have my reservation from Booking.com on their records. I had to print out my confirmation email from Booking.com in order to get my room.
It has a great location, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the Starbucks and Friday's in the lounge were very convenient! It was about 20 blocks from Royal Memorial Stadium. I wish it were closer to the University.
The quality and comfort of the hotel and it's proximity to downtown
Location, Starbucks for quick breakfast. Much too noisy. The single-pane windows do not protect from the traffic noise of Cesar Chavez, noisy trucks at 2:00am and heavy traffic until midnight. Noisy ice machines.
Parking not included
Convenient toconference center, Staff helpful. Room comfortable, and spacious with pleasant view. Beds good Hotel startting to show signs of age so fixtures and fittings not up to date
The hotel was located in the center of the city. A walk to the conference center took only 5 minutes.
The Westin is in a great location especially if you're thinking of partaking in Austin's nightlife. Accommodations were top-notch. Alessandra at the front desk was extremely helpful and polite.
Terrible water pressure in the shower (On the top floor)
Can't beat the location. The staff were on top of it. Rooms were comfy and clean. All in all, I'd definitely stay again. Our room, 1927, was directly under the gym, and we could hear the dropping of weights. The pool area was a really nice rooftop pool but was super crowded- a little too small for a hotel this size.
I loved everything about this hotel, from the valet to the hotel staff, great service all around.
Room was pretty much brand new. Staff was really nice. Location was great. It was a bit pricey, but that week all the hotels in Austin were priced high.
The staff and location were awesome! They double charged me for parking but fixed it immediately when I pointed it out.
- Free breakfast - Complementary Happy hour - Complementary Snacks/brown bags
Parking is 31 per night, then there is tax and tipping valet. Added about $90 to our 2 night stay.
the location and the pool the parking with the valet service is quite expensive
I was able to book the room right before KW Mega Camp at a great rate. It's right next to the Convention center and close enough to 6th Street. It could have come with a fridge instead of having to request it and bottled water.
Helpful, friendly staff. Sundries shop open 24 hours. Housekeeping sometimes didn't supply enough shampoo for 2 people.
Location, Staff, and Comfy Expensive Valet.
The staff is very courteous and welcoming. The location is great if you want to enjoy a night on the town without having to drive. The rooms look nice and were clean. Parking says $29 a day for guests (actually $37.89 after all fees). I was charged for valet parking, which I never used so I had to call and dispute it. There was a party going on down the hall which did not bother us, until we got a voicemail saying we were going to get kicked out if we get another noise complaint in the morning from management on the first night. We decided to stay away from the hotel for as long as possible to be safe. We asked for a specific room type. Just in case, called the hotel before we arrived to make sure it was ready. They confirmed everything was ready. Once we arrived, they put us in a different room than requested and said it was the best they could do.
Double charged me.
