Excellent hotel in a good location near the gaslamp quater
I was confused by the website and selected a prepaid rate. As soon as confirmation emailed arrived and I realized my mistake, I called on the phone to change the reservation to a refundable rate. Even though it was only ten minutes after the reservation for a stay a couple of months in the future, they said it was impossible. They kept reading me the rules about what nonrefundable means! Hilton said it was the hotel policy and they could not do anything about it. After my stay, the hotel's director of operations wrote to say that it was Hilton policy and the hotel could not do anything.
We needed to switch hotel rooms and they were very accommodating. Didn't seem too apathetic about it though. Thus the friendly service was a bit lacking. Everything was close for walking which made it really nice. Seemed a bit pricy for being a bit off the beaten path though. It was a good stay all in all. The staff could have been more friendly. Just didn't get a great vibe from most of them. Also the need to switch rooms was the plumbing.... It made sounds all evening. Gurgling bath and the toilet would run all day and night.
It was a great price for the location, near Little Italy and just a mile walk to Gaslamp. The room was clean and well done. It was easy to find the hotel and to park. The area around it isn't too bad, there weren't a lot of homeless people hanging out outside the hotel. The pool is smaller than I expected. The plumbing in the bathrooms is noisy, when someone in another room flushes a toilet it caused our toilet to make noises.
I liked the fact that anywhere we went was walking distance.
The room was neat and clean. The furniture arrangement was well organized and convenient. The bedding was very inviting and reminded me of a spa. The elevators were not well updated. I did not like the access to the main lobby or the rooms from the elevators. As I read in a couple of reviews, the plumbing was noisy and the walls were thin, but these were not enough to distract me from staying again.
Cookies / staff was friendly
Location, comfortable, enough room, easy check in and out. Fighting people next door.
location noise of the highway, we ask for another room but we had to choose between a bedroom over the highway or a very stinky smoke bedroom
Location is perfect
Great service at the front desk. Hotel was very clean.
If anything location The room was a sham! The "two story" suite is just two rooms on top of each other with a super steep, small spiral staircase up and down. The "jet tub" was a regular size tub with two small jets that hardly worked. The curtains where torn and stapled together! Definitely not the Hilton quality I'm use to.
Really like that there was a breakfast included in the price of the hotel. The people at the front desk were always friendly & helpful.
We stayed here for 7 days, Family Vacation, The Staff was perfect, The Hot Breakfast was Delicious, and the Happy Hour was a splendid treat! Would definitely stay here again. The Elevators are soooooooooooo slow ... But the Hotel does not have many floors, so the stairs were just fine to take.
The continental breakfast and the happy hour The staff seemed to be always tense and not very PR oriented
Reasonably comfortable and for the price it was a good airport overnight hotel - free transfer to and from hotel - but it took a while for pick up from airport.
The room was modest and comfortable, but what really made this such an excellent hotel was the staff. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to provide helpful recommendations about what to do in the area. The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic, and the hotel provided a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and the zoo, which was great. There was also a very nice free happy hour during the week and freshly baked cookies at night on the weekends. We liked how close the hotel was to the Gaslamp quarter, Little Italy, and even the waterfront if you don't mind a little walking. We will absolutely stay here again!
Great value for the money and relatively close to major downtown locations.
Great front desk staff. Cleaning staff did a very good job. Capets and hallway walls are very worn.
Everyone working at hotel were incredibly friendly. The shuttle is convenient as well. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Good location.
All the staff were really friendly and the shuttle service (used to go to/from the zoo and airport) was excellent! The drivers were also really friendly and offered advice about the area. The lift was extremely slow and the stair wells were not positioned in a user friendly location...
The friendly staff and their ability to help us when needed Yes, the parking but that is everywhere in San Diego.
I can't say more about the staff they were more than attentive to our needs. I have traveled all around the world and can say this is by far the best of the best. From check in to check out there is no staff better. Ana was there when we checked in and she was very helpful. Little outdated but they did have a poster up of some renovations to come.
The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Their warm smiles brightened our stay.
Nothing. It's dirty, my feet became black from the dirty musty carpet, the white comforter had a LOT of men hair stuck in the sheets, in both rooms they put me in. This hotel looks directly to the I-5!! It's LOUD!! I don't know anyone who comes for business who wants to sleep on top of the freeway noise. Talk about comfortable stay. No parking!! Mandatory valet so every time you're in or out you have to tip!
Reading reviews I was a little weary about my stay but I was pleasantly surprised to find a very friendly staff and clean room and bathroom (although some of the furniture a little worn but not bad). The bed and pillows were so comfortable! The complimentary water bottle was a nice touch as I always always forget to bring water with me. My only gripe about this place is the PARKING. The attendants were nice and courteous and Ill admit its nice to have someone bring your car to you but $32 dollars per night for parking! Golly. One of the Four Points staff said the parking company is contracted from an outside company and they have no control but jeez you choose Four Points for its affordability and they get you on parking.
Location Parking was an additional $26 per night. I ordered a club sandwich and asked for crispy bacon. The bacon was still raw.
Nice room, free airport shuttle, good wi-fi. Staff was helpful in terms of SPG lookup. The pool was warm, but water a little dirty. Nice place to get some sun in my g-string. A little far from the Convention Center and Gaslamp District, but convenient to the airport. The pool water was kind of dirty, otherwise everything was fine.
Pillows Slow internet, flakey internet, bathroom tiles falling off, locker room soap dispensers, old carpet and paint, freeway view and noise
location was excellent you can reach any point of San Diego within 10 minutes. Staff was great and helpful A minor issue with the TV even though we weren't in room for long periods of time it was a little annoying
Nothing Literally everything about it sucked.
The staff was really nice. The thing I disliked the most was the parking I could not believe how expensive parking was for only one day. I stayed two days and parking was more than $50. It was very disappoin I had to rearrange some my plans just to be able to make sure that got covered. Also we had a lot of trouble with the tv. It kept loosing signal and was not able to connect with our PS3.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is just right right off the freeway. Nothing .
The proximity to the airport. The room was hot. Had the air conditioner while I left for a couple of hours and when I returned it was as hot as when I arrived.
Nothing Dirty, run down, and filled with drugs and homeless people
Great price and value, convenience of location, very friendly and helpful staff. No shampoo, conditioner, and lotion like most hotels, but this is minor given the great price.
Get's the job done if all you have to do is sleep. Towels were like dish clothes, and they only gave you 1 (despite requests for more). No shampoo or other normal stuff.
The staff is young and enthusiastic, very welcoming. The rules in place make you feel safe and the location is great near downtown and major attractions. Could use some cleanup in some areas or air freshener to improve air quality in common areas.
Great community of people. There are always fun activities going on every day. You can eat breakfast and dinner there for free! It was by far better than any hotel I've stayed in =) Thank you!
Nice, friendly, cozy, positive kind of small, rocking bunk beds, short on common areas and kitchen facilities
It was so exciting to meet wanderers from all over the world. There are so many stories to be shared and so many opportunities to do so. The Hostel is hospitable and so colorful. The laundry room was also a big plus!
Not much; it is mediocre First of all rude staff (at least one); then other staff not really compatible and/pr knowledgeable (young girls arrived fresh from Brazil and put in charge of reception). The place is small, not really much of common areas (other than outside); Not very clean; congested bathrooms (upstairs where I stayed there was just one single bathroom for 4 room (that is 24 people...). Very small kitchen and dining room; and no breakfast (other than the instant packet of oatmeal). For the booking process online I give Zero; it is kind of misleading, in few ways. Total score - mediocre minus minus.
