The location A 4 star Marriott hotel without room service? In San Francisco? Get your act together. What a dated American hospitality company. Will not stay there again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone
Friendly accommodating staff. Great location, beautiful facility. The observatory level was cool, but packed, so much so we didn't stay to enjoy the view. I would recommend to a friend. Disappointed that I reserved a room with a larger bed and due to room availability we were moved to a double, which my wife and I were unable to share. We're by no means large people. It would have been nice to be able to park or rental without being charged extra, but that seems to be a norm in the city.
Really nice lobby, rooms where clean The wifi wasn't free, they charged you to use a computer for $.40 per minute. I really needed a workstation. No hot tube or pool for $400 per night. Will not go back.
Hotel was clean We booked a room for two night with a king size bed upon arrival we were not told they didn't have a room for us instead sent us to a room with double beds wouldn't accommodate us claiming they had "no more rooms available "... next day had issues relocating our luggage to next room. Parking was absurd $70 dollars a night ?? Overrated
Location No swimming pool
Location is excellent. Big hotel where you get lost. Looks and feel old, needs a major renovation.
No free wifi and same type of breakfast everyday
The room was clean, the bed was amazing, location was walking distance to all things downtown, I felt safe with my young son, easy express checkout. No room service, for the money we spent I would've liked to see a free breakfast, the cost of parking is insane (it is SF though), no pool.
The value for the money is really good! It was clean, spacious, well decorated. We ensured to get two beds in the bedroom and we got them!
They tried to steal my luggage when I first came in, took them over 4 hours to bring my stuff up. I said enough of this bs and went to go down myself and get all my stuff to find it hiding in a room away from everyone else while the guy at the front was telling me "it'll be there shortly were a little backed up". Then to top it all off I find $35 of charges from the hotel of stuff I never used. I've never been so disrespected by a hotel in my life. Shady workers I highly recommend you don't stay here.
We enjoyed the Marriott Marquis hotel very much , but the valet only parking is a bit spends. Thank goodness there is another parking garage one block over. Y
Great location great front desk people beautiful view Drink left in room from previous occupant
Really cool amenities, close to everything you need.Room service was nice and really cool views. I didn't like that after driving two hours up to SF,having reserved my room almost a week in advance they informed me my room was not ready, then couldn't give me an answer as to why or how long it would take to clean.Luckily friends who were getting married in the city had their room so we stayed there and waited almost an hour and a half until they called me to tell me it was finally ready then didn't offer much to try and make the situation better
The room was beautiful and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The location was convenient. We liked everything.
very good location and excellent pld decor Allows animals so we have dogs barking a couple of nights. Regular noice from the plumbing also disturbed us
Fantastic SF landmark...we never left the Hotel.
Decor, comfort and staff interactions. I did not sleep all night due to an event at the hotel where people were slamming doors and talking in the halls all night.
Loved the central location and the historical ambiance of the hotel.
Nice to stay in a piece of history. Very convenient location for MUNI/BART. Rooms appointments very nice, beds great. Main lobby atrium is stunning. Well-trained, personable staff. Coffee/wifi in room would be nice, but that's unfortunately the nature of the beast (Hol Inn Express does that, not most upscale). I went with two hyperactive twin boys, and though not an ideal hotel for kids in most ways, the staff was very patient and accommodating with them. I'd say I wish it were a better value, but really next to what else what available in the area it was a better bang for the buck than most.
The hotel is stunning and the staff is so nice. I loved the history and the elegance of the place. I liked everything.
location near attraction false fire alarm at 12:30am
I liked the overall appearance - the old world charm with today's amenities - great pool! the servic nothing
Location Bathrobes, slippers, and WATER included wow! Portable led lighted mirror. So convenient. Staff was really attentive to our needs and accommodating Very clean Booked a double bed superior room through AMOMA.com and they offered a king superior at the front desk. Definitely appreciated that. Spacious 2 ice vending machines on every floor Nothing.
The kids especially loved the indoor pool and the staff in the pool area were extremely gracious and helpful.
Poor accommodations. Rude staff.
Great location Restaurant can be improved, i. e. choice & prices slightly too high
Comfortable and clean. Good location No room service
We had a view even from the 9th floor. Very clean and cozy. Staff was really kind. No mini fridge :(
location - Pressured toliet caused loud, frequent rattling sounding like a fire alarm in the middle of the night. I told management and they don't/couldn't fix it . - $38 per night "resort fee" for no real services. A true rip off.
Location. Proximity to public transportation. Doors, fixtures show age, wear and tear. Facilities fee (which I assume were adjusted for SPG Platinum members)
View was great, staff was very friendly, and room was very clean. $58 for over night parking is outrageous, because of that I will not stay here again. Also, $20 for wifi? For the price you're paying that should definitely be included. We had to ask twice for a crib to be sent up to the room, that was a little disappointing when I had two small children to get to bed upon arrival. Also would have been nice to have a mini fridge included in the room. When traveling with kids it's very convenient to have a fridge to store their milk, snacks, etc
You had to pay for WiFi and the restaurant had a very limited menu.
Location was nice for exploring the city. Room was clean/comfortable. NO INTERNET at this hotel... In the modern age, it's ridiculous that wifi/high speed internet is not included in the cost of the hotel when you purchase ahead of time. On top of that, I asked about wifi when I was checking in, and the lady told me we could get internet with an OPTIONAL ~$35 PER night fee, that included internet and other services like bike rentals. We didn't want to spend this, so it made sense that I couldn't connect to any wifi from my hotel room. When I checked out, they said they had charged us for the fee, and that it was required, despite the fact that we'd never connected to the internet. Outrageous that this wasn't just in the price of the hotel from the getgo... Don't bother with this place until they get with the modern age.
I loved the view and staff was extremely friendly and the location great. Bed was very comfortable and and room was nice and clean. Mabye a lil upgrade on the appliances other than that it was great. I think for the resort fee it should have came with a little more amenities.
The room they put us in was very small. There was no refrigerator, no microwave, nothing that would make the stay comfortable or say luxury. Plus the parking cost and facilities fees are ridiculously high.
Location staff and cleanliness No room service or mini bar
Given a corner room even though I booked via Kayak Provided with slippers Room was spacious and TV was large - guess is 55" Gym was well equipped but didn't have time to use it Easter bunny was on duty and there was a tableful of candy for the young and not so young - I didn't have any but still appreciated the effort Bathroom short on racks to hang towels Shower head water flow too wimpy Bathroom scale low on battery
Appreciated the staff the location and the lounge/restaurant. The room was great with a nice view each morning ....
Luxury accommodations. Very friendly and helpful staff. Valet parking fee is crazy high!
Great hotel and staff. They treated us perfectly. I would absolutely stay here again. No complaints as all. The location for us was a bit too close to some seedy areas of town. No problem, but you need to be careful which way you walk.
Comfortable bed, clean facilities Check out was at 12:00pm as normal but was woken up by maid knocking on door at 9:15am. Charged my credit card $100.00 more than what was on invoice when I checked out. To be refunded within 5days or so supposedly....... It would have been nice to know beforehand.
I liked how the staff was really attentive. Rooms clean, everyine real proffesional. I didnt like the fact that when u drive in to check in they dont tell u that the charge for parking is 65$ . Also that the water thats in the room thats bottled i didnt know they would charge me 8:50$ for it. Ridiculous! I seen when i checkd out!
Awesome views of AT&T Park and the Bay. Front desk agent was great.
I hosted a bachelorette party at the Intercontinental and it was great!! The staff was very accommodating and helped us with making sure all the girls were taken care of. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, and the hotel was extremely spacious. There was a "bouncer" type employee at night who gave me and the girls staying at the hotel a hard time. He required every girl to have a key in their hand to get in, even though we just had one person per room have a key because we didn't think it was necessary. He was extremely rude and borderline harassing.
The room stunk! For $600 get some air freshener.
Nice rooms. Polite staff. Nice bathrooms. Everything worked without an issue. At Reservation, called the 800 number. I was told they only had two suites available. No rooms. Two minutes later, I went on Kayak and booked two rooms with no issue. Service was in no way exceptional. It was a little irritating that bell desk couldn't get cab. Food/bar is terrible Surcharge for internet access is ludicrous
Very friendly staff, great service. The access to Equinox is fabulous! Prime, prime location--the best!! In-room dining is awful. I had breakfast twice, and was severely disappointed at the outrageous price for the poor, poor quality of every aspect of the food--coffee is burnt and thick like mud, toast burnt, side vegetables unbelievably expensive with NO quality. The fresh orange juice is good. And that's it. Otherwise, the hotel is just wonderful.
Amazing service and experience! We we're there for our honeymoon and loved every moment. The staff went out of there way to help us.
People extremely helpful room service wasn't up to par, maybe because it was Valentines weekend.
The room and hotel are beautiful. We had a beautiful view of the city and Yerba Buena Gardens. The service is impeccable. Very comfortable bed and quiet rooms.
good fittings and decor
Service was excellent. Room service perfect. Bar outstanding. Concierge service spot on. Nothing
Room was great. But we were placed next to the ice machine....the wall there sounded paper thin throughout the night as guest needed ice. Being stuck next to an ice machine at 2 am
Good arrival and wait staff were both friendly and efficient. The door man was great and the team inside were extremely helpful. I have stayed in other SF hotels in the past and Hotel Zelos is a nice addition to the city. City hotel rooms can sometimes be small but the rooms at Zelos are very spacious! I also would like to say thank you for an overall smooth and fun experience! From booking on line with Kayak to speaking directly with the hotel, to checking in & out, everyone was super friendly and consistently would go out of their way to be helpful. Mixed message on parking After speaking with associates on two separate occasions. Then the confusion in the garage, mind you I thought I lost my ticket to return however I unpacked it when I arrived back home this evening. There was a problem between the hand written sign in log from the valet and the printed report from the front desk and the hotel's portion of valet claim check system also did not work. I retrieved my vehicle because I brought the only two matching keys and I have matching handmade key chains attached. Breakfast table with two nice chairs rather than a rolling office chair. That was weird. But it was also SF PRIDE weekend so who cares!
The service at the San Francisco Palomar was excellent. The front desk staff and doormen deserve top marks. They were helpful in every circumstance from procuring a taxi to giving directions or making suggestions regarding nearby attractions and walking distances. The hotel was clean, the restaurant was superb....fantastic breakfast! And the wait staff was superior. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and look forward to that happening in the near future. Hats off to the Palomar staff!!!!!!!
Windows face directly into office building just 10ft away. People in the office can see directly into your room
The location was great and my room was quiet. There was a bit of mildew odor in the bathroom. If not for that I would have given an excellent rating, instead of good, for my stay.
The location of the hotel was excellent. There were many nice dining, shopping and entertainment options very close by. It is also very close to a BART station so getting there from the airport is very easy. San Francisco is a surprisingly easy city to drive in as well, though parking is very expensive. Though the bed was very comfortable, it was a bit squeaky. Also, being on Market street means that there is a bit of noise but it's not excessive.
The Palomar is in a great location, the staff is very friendly, and the rooms are nicely decorated. Beds are OK. Restaurant (Bad Habit?) onsite had a nice quality breakfast which was pretty reasonable.
Close to everything in Union Square, clean and nice-looking inside. ...but that translates to a little over $300 a night, which isn't really worth it. Avoid it during the conventions in town.
Had a great time friendly staff great restaurant That nobody answered the phone at the restaurant for me to make a reservation fri night
The Palomar was clean, quiet and comfortable and in a great location. The woman working in the evening checking in guests needs more training. Either that or maybe she was having a bad night.
The staff was very friendly. The driver to the airport (George in the Towncar) was very courteous. Need a coffee maker in room. Not a deal breaker though of course.
Front desk personnel and bell service were exceptionally helpful. Rooms were nicely appointed - largest TV I've ever had in a hotel room. Central location right at Powell St. BART Station allowed me to get there quickly from Oakland Airport.
Great centrally located property. Rooms were very zen, beds super comfy and lots of cool little details that made the stay pleasant. Staff was hit or miss. I get that they want to create a chic vibe but a smile wouldn't kill anyone. Did get the requested high floor room with some semblance of a view.... granted our flight arrived at 5pm on a holiday weekend makes sense why they couldn't accommodate that request.
The view Carpet was very dirty, stained, there was not enough space in the room and pictures online were deceiving. The air conditioning was not working including the fan, the room felt warm even when the air conditioning showed a lower temperature. Very Noisy. Staff was not helpful when asked to move to a bigger room.
Rooms have an awesome view of the city, very modern decor, and comfortable beds. I've only ever stayed here on business, but this is an impressive hotel with impressive rooms if you don't want to spend a thousand bucks a night at the Fairmont.
Great location. The staff were very very friendly. The ambience was hip. The room, although had no view was very well decorated and filled to the brim with mini bar treats. The price, although not cheap, was probably one of the better in the areas for a clean non-scary establishment. I would stay here again! $63 for parking!!! Youch! That's probably standard in the city. Your $300 a night room just went up to almost $400.
Very poor service. A fraudulent charge from the restaurant was added to my room charge. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they became very accusatory and combative. Very, very disappointing!
Liked the decor and comfort of the room Phones are not answered in time
I loved the staff! They were nice and very friendly! I also liked how we were able to communicate through texting and they replied very quickly. I asked for more conditioner for our stay, but we didn't get any extra. I also didn't like how there wasn't room for water or food in our fridge, but overall I loved this place! Definitely booking a room at the W in the future!
Being charged $60 to valet a car in unacceptable
Large room, nice bathroom, overly public space (including a "playroom" which wasn't for kids but they were free to use), and a great bar that was buzzing but always had seats! Staff were very friendly and engaging. Didn't use onsite restaurant - breakfast looked a little limited for kids but various diners and cafes nearby. Great spot near muni and cable cars and Westfield shopping centre. Good for union square without being union square Restaurant menu looked fab for adults but not for kids for breakfast. Otherwise nothing negative
Great location near Downtown BART stations and Moscone Center. The room that I had this time had the sink located outside of the bathroom, near the bed and desk.
Location across from Marriot and a bit cheaper Tiny tiny rooms and shard showers not bad at all but shard showers
It feels refreshing as soon as you walk in the room. Everything is clean and the beds are amazing. The only thing I can say is wish they had a little mini fridge in the room.
Rooms are small and efficient; be prepared. Bed was comfortable. Hall bathroom was difficult to enter; the door got in the way. I remember waking up to some noise around 6am, but perhaps that's unavoidable in this location?
The location is really nice and the cleanliness were very good. The wall is very thin. The couples' voices who were staying next door were heard till late evening.
Nice interior and nice rooms. Great coffee and free internet. I did not know that there is not a bathroom/shower in the suites, but rather down the hall. However, this isn't a big deal and I got a good value Shared toilet/shower
Location Price Staff No amenities Bathroom didn't have a fan; instead, had a window that opened onto an adjacent room's bathroom window Ceiling fan was haunted
The location was the only thing great about this hotel. Having to share a bathroom and restroom with the entire floor. The bathroom on my floor didn't work so I had to use another floor. No real breakfast offered and parking rates were too much. Parked one block away for half the price.
If you don't mind the shared bathrooms, The Mosser is a superb place to stay and it's right in the heart of San Francisco. Best of all, it's a great value especially for a European style hotel at a prime location! Very friendly staff and we felt very comfortable during our 5-night stay.
I liked the location. I didn't like the bathroom/ shower located in the hall way that was basically too small to use. I barely fit on their bed in the original room. I upgraded to get my own bathroom and shower for $50 extra and this out me right over 4th street. Where it was so loud (even with both windows shut) and so bright from other lights (even with the blinds closed). The bed was as hard as a rock and oh yeah, let's not forget $49 a night to park your car at their hotel that you just spent $180 a night for and won't be able to sleep anyways.
Overall cleanliness and facilities were good We told the concierge we were on vacation and wanted some ideas on how to spend our time in San Francisco and he told us to "go see a movie". No help at all
Inexpensive compared to the other options. There qas a fight for the shared bathroim in the middle of the night that woke me and it was noisy from the street outside.
We expected a two-star but it was a three star, right across from the Orpheum Theatre, not so far from Union Square, and the Manager quickly made a slight change to our booking when we asked.
The beds were very comfortable. The hotel should provide bottled water in the rooms for staying guests.
was easy to get to Had to send breakfast back on a few occasions :-(
Location of the hotel Staff...very unpolite
Not far from the city center Hotel is not clean, Looks old, Have to wait hours for very slow elevators, Wi-Fi almost nonexistent, Showers are in poor condition They charge you 5$ for calling the front desk!!!
The room is big. The bed is comfortable. It looks long history. It was too noisy outside, maybe there is a anti-fire center nearby, for our sleep were broken by the noise every night. It was really terrible. And there was a door between two rooms each side with a lock. One night our neighbor was stranged by the door and tried to find things behind it. This made us uncomfortable.
Interesting and historical hotel near city center. Market Street is no longer so pleasant as it was before.
The fact that it was so close to the street car pick up! The diner across the street was amazing! if you go there get the T- Rex.
Bell hop and concierge is often rude. Lots of homeless outside on market St but they are harmless. Security guards make sure trey don't come in.
Location is central a little the wrong side of town but this is why it is cheap I thnk if you can go along with the crazies around its fine. Beautiful hotel well above its class rating with lovely staff Just the number of homeless people that seem to congregate near the hotel its fine if you can live with it they do make up the fabric of the city
The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Our hotel room was clean, quiet and we enjoyed the duvets on the bed. I would recommend this hotel to others. Close to transit with the bus and muni lines just outside of hotel. Only downfall about the hotel was there was hardly any restaurants close by. The attached hotel was ok - a little on the pricey side and not kid friendly. The restaurant staff was not friendly at all. There was about a 2 block stretch that was between the hotel and downtown. Lots of homeless - but nothing to be afraid of.
Fiendliness of staff and security No tea making facility, paying for internet access, no breakfast included. Location on Market St was a bit scary while walking.
The parking is a bit expensive- I realize it's San Fran but $46/night seems excessive
Unique room small but lots of windows that opened to Mission st and large wallirrir behind bed wall! !mission and 5 th st parking garage just across street , short walk to Moscone Center with Starbucks on way Close parking and walking distance to Moscone Center
I got early to the pickwick hotel I liked that they were able to get me a room by 1 pm
The price you pay for a hotel in that location was great. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The shampoo and lotion provided was good enough that I didn't need to use my own (it was Bath & Body Works brand). And the towels were nice and fluffy - not thin and scratchy. It was pretty worn around the edges. Facilities were old and walls were badly in need of a paint job. The room was small and the bed creaked. The WIFI was slow and unreliable. The walls were pretty thin and you could hear other guests and street noises clearly.
The AC seems not working, the vents blow hot air only. Opened all the windows to get some cool air but that was too loud as the room opens on to the busy road with lots of traffic. Wi-Fi is OK, but could not connect to VPN. It was a short stay checked in at midnight. I was travelling from East Coast, so that is 3 AM. Did not bother to complain to staff and checked out 8 AM local time.
Cleanliness, location, price and everything Charging Extra 50 USD , for Incidental charges no doubt same wlll be refunded but they should have that much faith in customer
The location was great. Yeah - theres homeless people outside BUT theres homeless people all over SF. My second room was good. I was originally put into a room on the second floor (avoid at all costs) and the windows were open when I got there (sign 1) - got them closed. Then my hot water didnt work and maintenance had to work on it for 30 min (sign 2). Finally when I slept it got so incredibly hot in my room that I was sweating. Not even the fan was keeping it cool. I should have changed rooms that night but it was 10 pm and I just worked a 12 hour day. The next morning I explained to the front desk all of the above and they immediately put me in a nicer room.
The place had character good location staff was good Rooms weren't cleaned enough, broken outlet in bathroom and rooms were kind of tight
Great value! Great location for Moscone Convention Center. Cozy room (small), but very clean and quaint. Good for one person who's not planning to spend time in the room other than to sleep. T.V. was great with fast channel surfing, solid cable connection. Although old building, everything was very clean. Clean bathroom, great water pressure. I don't think there was room service - no menu or hotel binder in the room. Not a lot of space to put toiletries in the bathroom, but that wasn't a big deal. Wifi didn't work in the room - totally weak connection.
It was 3 blocks to the Moscone Center. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Historic/ small rooms. Price was outrageous for the room - $349 a night (but we were there during the Pride Parade and Library Conference). We had to sleep with the windows open, weak AC - air temp not the problem, but street noise. Water pressure in shower came and gone. Both of us seating at the end of the bed flipped the mattress.. Surprise!
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Clean. Helpful concierge. Central location near transport and theaters. Lovely Art Deco Architecture. Extensive vending machine. No Air Conditioning. No hotel movies. No room service.
Location excellent! The mattress with its loud rubber squeaking was completely INSANE!!!? It was something from a comedy show or hidden camera. I have never imagined something so aweful. Worse yet, when we told the front desk, we were told a Manager would call us. Nope. We called amd emailed. No return call. There is no excuse to have such HORRIBLE customer service as to not even return a phone call.
Location and price Small room, two outlets did not work, parking too expensive
Friendly accommodating staff. New and clean. Good location. First room was fine, then they moved the 3 of us to one very tight one with the only light coming from a light well - inadequate room lighting - much too dark. Okay breakfast offerings. Two fire alarms on one day - evacuation at 8 am and again later.
Helpful staff and very clean rooms. Unable to sleep because located next to an extremely loud music venue that operated until the early morning. Rooms without desks or chairs to work in during the evening. Scratchy sheets and pillows with no support. This part of Mission is a bit rough.
The desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. They sent up maintenance immediately when I told them the safe was locked before I checked in. The safe was locked when I checked in, the housekeeping staff forgot to empty a garbage that had food scraps in it, and the shower door is very difficult to open because the glass door doesn't quite clear the stone entry.
Friendly staff, clean and near everything! Love it! nothing
Got a great room price for SF standards and it was modern, New, clean, walked to Giants game, not exposed to noise @ the game. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Convenient location. Breakfast Valet parking- $$$$$$$$- crazy , neighborhood needs lots of love
Smelly carpets and room
The breakfast was one of the best "continental" breakfasts I have had. Don't miss the waffles! A bit far from the main part of town.
Very conveniently located to downtown. Onsite parking is great.
The front desk staff was not very friendly.
Hotel was 10 mins from are destination. We were given the 2nd level room by the stairs not a good place to be.People coming & going all night.
Comfortable room. Good bathroom facilities. Traffic noise. Location. Welcome at reception was poor on arrival. No response to e-mail enquiry regarding airport shuttle facility.
free parking, swimming pool no airco, only a fan.
The freindliness of staff
it was pretty close to downtown, you can walk to all the interest points although the neighborhood was not very nice. The wifi and the parking are free.
very good location, clean and good value for the price you pay
This is more like a motel than hotel. It was clean, but weathered. The furniture and finish was economy when it was new which was some time ago
Poor noise isolation
I liked the location. I didn't like that parking at the hotel was $35 a night. It would of been nice if it was in the description. Parking was a rip off.
The decor The staff was m
Was close to location that I needed to be at... Moscone Center, Union Square, etc. Construction at hotel was taking place during my stay, so was awoken earlier than I would have liked.
Unique, great location SO LOUD!!!! I could not get a good nights rest because the walls are soooo thin and you can hear everyone and everything... I would have given the hotel 4 stars if it weren't for that!
The location is good. The front desk person was a trainee left alone and unable to fulfill basic functions of their job. The room was loud and stuffy. Our original room had no functioning windows or air conditioning. Several dead birds outside locked window. After an hour at the front desk we finally got a better room. This motel is extremely noisy. Don't plan on sleeping past 7 am as all doors open into a courtyard and slam as guests leave.
Don't ever come here!
Noisy at night, cold rooms.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are clean, communal areas are clean. But its a basic stay, good for if you need to be in the area and do not require more than a comfortable bed. Location not ideal. Far from downtown. Room was made daily, though we expressed that an attendant should not enter the room (not a big deal).
Rooms looked fairly newly renovated. Homeless receive free services next door so they're everywhere and they're aggressive. NOT a place I'd bring a family to stay if enjoying SF.
Increased price at booking by 15%. Quoted price $135/night became $220 after increase, taxes, and enormous $42 parking fee. Tried to cancel, they wouldn't allow that.
Typical chain hotel amenities, and comfy bed. Good location. Housekeeping came in the room at 7am to me pushing them out saying come back later. If she had it her way she'd clean around me and make me into the sheets go get her job done. Hidden fees. Add $100 extra to your bill for "taxes and other costs". Parking is $50 a night
ThemIss come into your room even when the privacy sign is in. She didnt eve knock just barged right in! Not comforting if your trying to leave your room at all while on vacation.
Parking garage is $45 Small restroom and no fridge
The staff and restaurant were excellent Being a guest and having to pay extra for parking. Makes staying in the city to expensive because you don't really want to walk anywhere in that area at night
Room had at least two flies at all times. Sheets may may not have been changed. Restaurant food was like pay x4 the price of Denny's but the same quality
Cleanliness and comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Nice view of the city. Close to BART and muni. No refrigerator and microwave in room. Homeless people near the area.
Staff was excellent. Area of the hotel. Not an area I would walk around.
Very friendly and helpful staff Offers free wifi but very very slow and does not work most of the time
Kitschy decor is cute, gives room a less sterile feel. The hotel markets itself as boutique, but is actually owned by the Best Western across the street.
nice room.very nice looking and comfortable. no ice machine on the floor.paying for parking.
Its a stylish place, in a not so great location; however the personnel were very nice. The location, and parking fee
Helpful staff, comfortable bed. I would have liked more extensive breakfast choices.
Close to a BART station. Very convenient from International Airport. Public safety is not so good around the hotel. Sometimes, in the midnight, outside of the hotel was noisy.
Good clean room, friendly staff, value for money. Location not ideal with quite run down surrounding areas
N/A wouldn't accept cash and unfriendliness of staff
The staff were great, very helpful, and the room was pretty cool Minor point, but the tv reception was awful and the remote control did not work.
Staff members were very polite, and helped with obtaining taxi when Love Fest - parade along Market Street was in full swing. Only experienced one staff member more interested in his dinner break than serving customers. Try and avoid room facing road, very noisy traffic and people walkingby. Not suitable for ladies to walk back from Market Street when it is dark, to Motel - 3 blocks. Unfortunately a lot of homeless people line the road en route back, esp at night. Staff friendly, however, would not accept Travel Card insisted on card with name on it, which was inconvenient.
I loved the room decor. Although having a refrigerator in the room would have been good for storing my medications. The location is bad and the availability of something decent to eat past 10:00 p.m., is none. The staff added additional items to the billing and I had to request several times for the rate to be corrected and the additional items removed.
We liked the bed and the bathroom. It was kind of small but understandable in San Francisco. The neighborhood was very nice and there were plenty of places nearby that were reasonable to eat at. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had paid extra for a street-view room but did not get it. Instead we got free parking so, we didn't ask for a change.
Really friendly, helpful front desk staff. My room was very clean and comfortable. The window was only single glazed and overlooked Market Street, so it was a little noisy. Hanging space was also very limited.
The staff was great. Recommended a nice dinner and breakfast spot for us. Very welcoming and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Showers had low water pressure. But other than that, everything was great.
Really pleased to stay at this boutique hotel right in the heart of the city. The location was great for getting to SOMA and the Castro. The room was cute. The staff was particularly great. Both Darren and Ellen were so friendly and helpful. This was a much better option than the Travelodge where I originally planned to stay. I stayed another day the following weekend because the place was so charming. There was a bit of road noise from being right on Market, but hey, you're right on Market. It was a bit hot which is rarity in San Francisco. Air condition could have been nice but I understand why the room didn't have it since hot days are so rare. These are really minor things you might experience with any hotel in the area
Everything was perfect. Very clean, super friendly and helpful staff, also great location! No complaints.
Cleanliness of room and friendliness of staff Size of the room- too small
The hotel's in a pretty good location with good access to public transportation. I was able to get around using buses, BART and the trolley out front no problem. It might not be the nicest part of town but it wasn't bad. I didn't feel unsafe at any point in the immediate vicinity. There were homeless around but I saw that in lots of parts of the city. When I got to my room, I was glad to see that it was spotless and bright. It was a very basic room but had everything I needed, with a couple nice little touches. The bathroom I had was large and clean with a jacuzzi tub (that I felt too bad to use... signs about a CA water shortage all around town). Bed was comfortable. The service at the front desk really made it stand out though. Ellen was incredibly pleasant and helpful and it made all the difference in my trip, honestly. She had spot-on recommendations and took the time to get a feel for what you might like. It was a little bit like having a friend in the city to help you get acclimated. I'm sure she wouldn't bother you if you're just looking for a place to stay, though. For what I paid, I'd definitely consider staying again on my next trip to the city. They give you a key to the front door that's $200 if you lose it and have to get it replaced! That was definitely an extra stress I didn't want to worry about on my trip. They need a light near the bathroom mirror. It was hard to see my face for shaving so I was pretty worried I had missed a spot. The road noise was a little annoying, but tolerable. I came in November, so maybe they just hadn't turned on the heat yet, but my room was pretty darn cold in the morning. It was fine for the rest of the day and at night though.
The central location which had a lot of boutique shops surrounding it The staff didn't answer the phone when we were drivingaround to find the hotel, the rooms were bare bones with no amenities whatsoever, the parking is a slightly discounted lot about a block away ($15 a day)
This hotel was a great value for San Francisco. All the other hotels in the same price range had frightening reviews. My boyfriend and I were comfortable throughout our stay. Most reviewers mention that the rooms are small, but that wasn't so bothersome, as we literally were in the hotel just to sleep and shower. We would have liked if there were a small mini fridge (for leftovers and drinks) and a dresser, though.
Its a awesome place,it is in downtown of San Francisco,so everything is closer. It was nice to stay there
They didn't clean my room even when I left on the knock-door the note
I stayed here for the Dreamforce Conference for a week. The beds were alright. That's about where the compliments stop. They explained that I was expected to leave my hotel room key at the front desk every time I left, which I found to be odd. When I came back for the key in the evening, all I needed to say was my room number, and they just handed the key over without verifying my identity (I didn't even give my name). One time, I forgot the key in my room when I locked the handle. I went down to the desk and they handed over the entire master key ring (which works on every door in the building) for me to retrieve my key. NOT OK!! The shower closet, which was shared by the entire floor had a tiny shower stall and felt like standing under a garden hose. The window would not lock, nor would the deadbolt, but at this point my expectations were so low I didn't even bother wasting my time to report it. There were bugs in the room. Oh, and on my way out of the hotel the last morning to catch my early flight, the building was locked from the inside with no way to unlock it without a key - good thing the building never caught on fire. I could not recommend this hotel even to an enemy.
The location is great, but also not so great since the civic center section of SF is right next to the rough Tenderloin section, and Market St always has lots of crazies floating around. I needed to be near the Civic Center and this hotel was perfect, close to BART (literally a station is less than half a block away), and close enough to Caltrain (about a 30 min walk). I did not care for the common bathrooms and showers, nor did I like having to leave my key behind at the front desk every time I left the hotel. The decor is very dated, but that doesn't bother me personally, and they offered donuts and coffee in the mornings. If you are looking for a place to rest your head, and you are not easily grossed or creeped out this hotel will be a bargain if you need to stay downtown. If you can afford to spend several hundred dollars a night, then you would be better off finding a more luxurious hotel.
If you don't mind a hotel with bathrooms and showers down the hall, this place will work for you. I travel a lot, so am not used to seeing bugs in a room. Strange policy to turn in keys to the front desk when you go out actually puts hotel employees and others in lobby on notice that you are gone and room is empty which is a bad idea. the neighborhood is on the edge of the Tenderloin, so a lot of street people outside the hotel.
Location, and the staff was friendly. There was a slight problem with my reservation and the staff was pretty helpful to fix it. Shared bathroom, which is REALLY small (only shower, no sink), you have a separate toilet, which is shitty as well, and a small sink in your room. Two separate faucets, and ry uncomfortable. We were four guys is a double bed room. Really tiny, no room for luggage, small beds. It's an OK place if you're staying for one, maximum two nights. Otherwise most definitely find something with at least a private bathroom, despite the slightly higher price.
It's a place for homeless people
Great location, great staff, very clean hotel. My mother and I had a lot of fun and thank you guys for the donuts and coffee.
Price in San Francisco Small bathroom and shared with all floor old building and facilities
the location was great Staff was slow, incompetent, and unaccommodating. The rules for the hotel were ridiculous. No guests allowed, or a $30 charge for ONE guest every night. You must leave your keys with the front desk every time you leave the hotel. They ran up my total, then when I asked for an itemized receipt, they charged me $5 more because they had totaled it wrong. It also took almost half an hour to get the itemized receipt because some slow idiot was making a half-assed word document from scratch for it. Also the room was tiny, dirty, and the bathroom and shower are seperate closests shared by the entire floor. Don't stay here.
place was creepy. stayed for four hours. woke up and canceled the rest of the stay. cheap prices but very creepy setting. kinda dirty, rough neighborhood. no bathrooms or shower in room. weird system of turning the key into the office each time you leave. stayed at the good hotel around the corner for a few dollars more.. way better options around. didn't like a thing other than the old timey record playing in the lobby.
