El mar y la piscina maravillosos ..... Nada todo me gusto
The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Pools were lovely and clean (slightly chilly for my taste). Adults only area was nice. Only tried the patio restaurant which was very good, but pricey ($50 for french toast, OJ, single egg and sausage). Room air conditioner had issues. Maintenance was unable to solve the issue and did not notify front desk that the issue was not fixed.
Still holding money on my credit card.
We had an excellent time, highlight was that our room window opened fully, facing the ocean. Beautiful!
The rooms were luxurious yet charming, the staff was very helpful and the pool/lounge area was great Not much to dislike.
I arrived at 3:40 pm and was told that the room I booked is not available. The front desk staff guaranteed that it would be ready by 4pm, but when I came back at 4:06pm I was told again the room is not ready. I finally checked in by 5pm and nobody explained why. They gave me two key cards and one doesn't work which kept me out of the room when I came back from swimming the other day. It is the most terrible experience that I have and I definitely don't recommend this hotel
Beautiful room - even the pull out couch was extremely comfortable - memory foam mattress! The lobby staff (registration, concierge, bell hop, etc) was very attentive and friendly. The hotel has a very classic feel of old luxury. I would definitely stay there again! The beach was actually over at the neighboring hotel, they said we would have full service at their beach but every time we went, they were "out" of umbrellas on the Vanderbilt side of the beach. We counted and they only had about 12 umbrellas in total for Vanderbilt guests which is ridiculous! Also the are designated for Vanderbilt is over in the corner without a direct view of the ocean. I was disappointed.
Excellent venue. Poor staff. Very stuffy. Don't use Uber as the staff will ask you to have the Uber pick you up at the curb vs the hotel entrance.
Everything! outdoor spaces, great food, rooms spacious and confortable, amazing view of the ocean everywhere. One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Would love to come back.
I love the service everyone was so kind and helpful. The hotel was beautiful inside and out.
Everything was Fantastic
Nice hotel, a little bit old Staff members are great Location is one of the best in San Juan Nice Beach front, nice poll area, everything else is below average You have CSV, Walgreens, and many restaurants walking distance Everything is overpriced Rooms are old and small Bar is noisy and crowd not cool at all Casino area looks aweful I didn't wasted time on it
Location is amazing. Condado area is vibrant. Great restaurants, great sightseeing. Our room had roaches and after getting a minor upgrade, things went downhill. In the fine print, breakfast package excluded my 12 year old daughter, which put us in a weird place because we were then forced to pay for the overpriced breakfast or take her somewhere to eat. The hotel muddled up our booking. We received wrong expectations about our room, which ended up Being small and cramped. Hotel management isn't empowered to take care of customers and we received an "it-is-what-it-is" attitude from the staff. After asking, they said that for a discounted fee, we could upgrade. The total amount meant $250 out of pocket which we couldn't do. This was even after letting them know it was our first time staying there and we were in town to celebrate my brother in law's birthday. The hotel restaurant's food was bland and the quality is not 4 star level. Chefs couldn't even get a boiled egg right for our 18-month old. Every morning, we had to request it at least twice. Room service was poor and slow: a simple order of chicken tenders with ice cream jumped from $12 to $23, between tax and the high delivery fee. To make things worse, after almost an hour, the order arrived with missing silverware and napkins for which we had to call again. Was so let down by this experience. Go to La Concha a block down. The few extra dollars will be well worth it.
Staff is really courteous, upgraded our room for free. Always smiling, will help you no matter what. Had an amazing stay, and will definitely come back again.
Service from the staff was excellent. View from our room was fantastic. Room and grounds were kept very clean. Beach was lovely and kept clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return. A little pricey. Also someone was smoking on their balcony. We could not sit on our balcony one evening because of the smokers. I was told that the hotel policy allows smoking on the balconies as long as their balcony door remains shut. That may be fine to keep smoke out of the room but it doesn't help guests in nearby rooms. Smoking should not be allowed anywhere on the grounds, including balconies.
Our family loved the close proximity to the beach. Taxis were too expensive. There's not enough public transportation.
Wonderful live music at pool and in lobby. Beautiful beach, plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Nice pool, just a little chilly. Food is so-so and overpriced (no big surprise).
I love how they had all the Amenities on site, and the Staff was Polite always willing to help and offer refreshments. The Rooms had a little Moldy Smell. Other wise my kids love the Pool and the Beach.
Great pool for toddlers! Awesome restaurants and service. For lunch La Isla restaurant kebobs are highly recommended. Our room had a ocean view that ir worth the extra money. Beach is great but watch out for little kids cause waves are unpredictable and can get very strong from one second to another. I suggest keep them at the shore.
We loved the amenities, cleanliness , and attentiveness of staff in addition the local of the hotel to all different conviniences Nothing to dislike
Nice área of San Juan near many restaurants. Old San Juan is a quick 75 cent bus trip (very nice buses) from in front of the hotel. Hotel has great pools, beachfront, with lots of activities for anyone.
EMPLOYEES VERY NICE WORK VERY HARD TO PLEASE YOU LOBBY MUSIC VERY LOUD I USED EAR PLUGS
I saw all the resorts and this on has the best bang for your buck. I am a young doctor and went with my girlfriend and did extensive research on best water front resorts and this is the one because of the pool and service. Becareful other hotels are in front of rocky beaches that will ruin your vacation. This has great beach prime location and amazing options on things to do.
Very comfortable bed and size of the room. Some hallway noise.
Great hotel. People very helpful to make it the best stay ever Luv everything
Nice view to the bay, pretty roof swimming pool and good gym No parking, bad service in the front desk. No attention to the guest. They send me to the wrong room with a family inside... They don't pay attention to what they do in the front desk. Not possible to book in the front desk the man make me reserve through a phone and it was not possible. At the end, I had to make the booking on my cellphone because they were not kind enough to make me a reservation.
Expensive and noisy. Nice location
The hotel is in a great location for touring Old San Juan. Taxi access great and right on the waterfront. The staff and service here is perfect. It's so unbelievably overpriced for a mid-range style Sheraton it made us choke paying their prices. However, they know they can hold you hostage with those prices given the other hotel options in Old San Juan. Its quite loud in the hallways, but I must say the location is awesome.
The location was great for walking they old San Juan and to get on cruise ship. A/C in our room didn't work. Only received two channels on tv. Advertised as having its own casino inside hotel and there was no casino. Very disappointed.
Great location, right in old San Juan. Casino was fun at night. Rooftop pool was fun during the day. No view from our room, but that wasn't a big deal.
Perfectly located for visitors looking to explorer Old San Juan on foot. the entire staff was exceptionally helpful with points of interest and restaurants in the area. Will definitely stay there upon our next visit Wish they had a café or store that was open extended hours.
The hotel was very convenient. It is walking distance from the cruise port and the rest of Old San Juan. Staff very friendly.
Great stay but had ask repeatedly for washcloths. Going green ( no maid service, just fresh towels ) was pefect....and received a $5 coupon each day you go green. Used it in the restaurant. Downside, they forgot to give it to us one day. And still no washcloths!! Another downside, cable reception was horrible all 4 nights!!! No TV for longer than 20 or so minutes. Very aggravating. So dont expect to relax to a movie or occupy the kiddies while you get ready for dinner. Front desk never had an answer and nothing they could do. Otherwise, great location, comfy beds, quiet hallways at night.
Would really like my money back. I have told everyone I know to NOT book through Kayak nor stay at this girl.
Great place to stay at since it if very close to the cruise port. Wish they had a shuttle to pick up at the airport. Also pool was too small. Need different tile for the pool area because that tile is very slippery.
Cleanliness and lots to do within walking distance All the homeless people laying around in the area
Some of the rooms are modern, clean and spacious. The location is superb; close to highways (but not too close), many restaurants, the beach, convenience stores and many other atractions. The lobby looks great and the staff, at first impression (see "What did't you like?" section), seems knowledgeable, useful and amicable. Management decided that 3:00 AM on a Tuesday was the perfect time to, using pneumatic hammers and drills, install a sign on the exterior of the nroth tower (where I was staying)!! After some negotiations (you would had thought this was a given) with the front desk they agreed to move me to a room in the south tower. However, that room was not clean, the bed was not amde and the closet doors would not open. The front desk offered to send maintenance to fix everything...AT 9:00 AM!!! Once again it took some convincing, but they finally move me to a clean and, more importanly, quiet room. The hotel manager promised to credit my account with two nights and parking fees; however, during check-out they refused to give me a receipt saying that it would be emailed to me. I am still waiting for the email or the credit.
The distance to the beach, the location in terms of dining/night life Everything was great at the hotel except breakfast. We stayed there for 4 days and 3 out of 4 there was at least something to eat but the las day was going into the weekend so it got busier. By 8:45 AM all the food was gone and they had nothing to re-fill it with. It wasn't just one item but omelettes, side, sausage, cereal, and even pastrywas gone. When I asked the floor manager if they have absolutely anything to eat he was very unapologetic and said we should have come earlier
Good breakfast included, friendly staff, and convenient parking lot next to hotel for $17/day. Only negative was that the location was loud and noisy at night (due to busy popular location) and we were woken up while sleeping.
Excellent staff and breakfast Nothing
GREAT value in an AWESOME location with great views! Nothing
Nice amenities. Very clean and accesible. Comfortable. Nice breakfast. The bathroom smelled too much to clorox. Expensive parking.
Everybody was so nice to us! Needs room service ASAP
Pros: Lobby: very clean, with friendly staff at front desk. Nice aquarium. Free water and coffee. Plenty of room to sit and lounge with descent music and accessible large screen televisions. Location: across the street from walgreens. On the corner of Ashford Avenue. Most places within walking distance. Cons: Wrong room: we reserved a king bed but instead we were given two Queens without being told. We found when we walked into the room that it was the wrong room. The front desk eventually corrected the mistake Poor vector control: there were ants and roaches in the room. ants on the carpet and night stand. Woken up to a dead roach on the floor near the door Poor AC: the window AC wasn't able to make the room cooler than 73 degrees Fahrenheit despite the setting being at a lower number Dirty towels: the white towels had stains on them and would leave lint on the skin after drying off Bedding: stiff bed. Their was no underlying bed liner Parking : an open lot behind the hotel with no visible security presence.
Overall service. It was ok. No identifiable faults.
Location was perfect. The value for the money is real. Staff pretty good. Pool 24hrs. No parking
The staff were brilliant, extremely helpful and attentive. The porter staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The front of house was professional and again could not do enough to help. the room was clean and tidy and the facilities excellent. Given I was also working due to plane delays, the addition of fast internet made working extremely easy. The restaurant was also excellent and the location of the hotel perfect, within easy reach of both golden sands and pools with 2 jacuzzis. After my stay in the Marriott Stellaris (sister hotel to La Concha) about 1/4 mile away I was not a fan. This hotel shows them how it should be done. I can't rate either casino as I don't gamble but aside from that I could not fault La Concha Renaissance and would happily go again. I would not return to the Stellaris though.
Everything was so unbelievably great. The staff was awesome, the views were spectacular, the water sports were on point, proximity to the center of old san juan and condado center. extreme value for the money.
Outdated and deteriorated exterior facade. Bar area can use an update. It's a good 20 years behind. More outdoor seating can be added to the terrace.
I loved the location. The hotel staff was fabulous. Very friendly and willing to help. The door to my balcony was permanently locked. I would have like to have had access to the balcony.
The taxes were supposed to be encluded- they were not!!
I liked the beach being right there Wifi didn't work for a few hours tons of problems, when we told staff they said that they would call att, they said nothing was wrong with it, finally me fiddling with my phone, and almost a day later we got it to work. But the one thing that pissed me off, was the fact that they have hidden fees like a deposit of some kind that no one tells you before you go, which you if you pay that deposit with a debit card you're screwed because you have to wait 2 weeks to get it back. Everything is absolutely overpriced even the water. So what I did to frugal with my money was that i bought snacks and water so i wouldn't have to be $5 for a bottle of water. I could go on, but I didn't like it and will not stay here again
Loved the salt water pool, the oceanfront hammocks, the different restaurant options in the hotel, the 24 pool/hot tubs, very friendly and accommodating staff The rooms were very small and didn't have a dresser
The Condado Plaza is a great bargain to escape the Winter blues and the excessive snows of the northeast. The staff is pleasant and helpful. When we first arrived and checked in, the room we were assigned had a defective AC unit and it was a humid swamp. I went to the front desk and explained the problem and was immediately moved to another room with working AC. The front desk staff was polite and personal. The hotel needs updating. It appears to have had a renovation in many of the public areas and the rooms. Those areas have a boutique hotel vibe, but the carpet in the hallways of the room floors need to be replaced.
The staff was very friendly and helpful at the check in. The rooms are very clean and modern. Good location. No room service. No water bottles in the room, if you want something to drink or eat you have to go to the lobby or a cafe in the second floor.
I loved the pools, swim up bar, the food was good too! The staff was super friendly and the place was very clean! The beach is man-made, very small, and the ocean is more like an inlet.
Beautiful hotel and amazing location with some great amenity options. The staff was very poorly trained and had terrible customer service skills. In our stay we got completely ignored by a consierge, had to wait to check in an hour after the check in time, a stuffed animal taken from our room by house keeping never to be returned. To top it off the walls are painfully thin, and a group of 6 teenagers got checked in next to us. Loved the location but will stay elsewhere at my next visit.
Remote didn't work. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work Room stains on counter and the floor that were not cleaned from previous guest. I checked in after 10 pm and was too tired to asked for a different room , then the remote didn't work, again too too tired to call but in the morning when the exhaust fan fan in bathroom did not work I, thought the view was not worth it.
The infinity pool was great! Rooms were nice and beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms didn't have vents and the food and drinks are expensive.
The cleanliness was great, housekeeping department was extraordinary. The people at the Cafe on the lobby were great. Some of the staff at the front desk were not that polite as I was expecting since I am an SPG member.
Rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was warm and friendly. Loved the total non-smoking environment which amazingly included the casino. We also appreciated having the green option available for opting out of daily room service. Had difficulty getting service in their restaurant in the evenings. In fact, one evening we were the only two patrons and after being seated for 10+ minutes with no waitperson approaching us, we left to go eat elsewhere. However, breakfast was great!
Good location and hotel looks great The bedding. The sheets were really dirty and if you pull the comforter up to the light you can see all the dust and deadskin That has been collecting into the comforter and it is digusting.
The rooms are clean, facility well kept, and staff friendly The bed was not as comfortable as we expected
Housekeeping is mediocre, they take too much time to get the whole floor clean.
The view the infinitity pool and the casino The staff at nice and also they don't change your sheets everyday unless it's requested
Hotel is clean and friendly staff Location isn't the best taxi to old San Juan was about 15.00 dollars each way. No restaurants nearby so you have to get a taxicab and can become costly.
It was close to convention center. It does not have facilities to clean your clothes at your own. It should have a small laundry area. I stayed 4 days for a volleyball tournament, and I had to clean the uniforms by hand everyday. They just have a few fridges we were put on a wait list and never call us.
Love the casino love the Metropole restaurant love the pool I don't like it there is not a beach in the hotel
I loved the Club Lounge. The breakfast was superb. Every staff member I interacted with was super friendly and helpful. The food was very expensive and to be honest, the yellow walls reminded me of a high school (and not the good kind).
The staff, the view Sliding door to balcony was hard to open and close.
Staff was great! Location Excellent it was close to the airport but you didn't hear the airport!
Nothing I paid a butt-ton of money to stay at this hotel. The girl at the front desk didn't even say hello to me when I was checking in. That says it all right there. Then she hit me with a massive resort fee, which definitely was not worth it. Then I said to her: "If you're going to hit me with an 18 percent resort fee, you might want to ease the blow with a simple greeting." Probably won't be headed back to Puerto Rico anytime soon. I'll just stay in NY where people treat you like shit, but at least you're still in NY.
Had to spend one extra day in PR after vacation elsewhere, and we randomly picked the IH. We were pleasantly surprised. They let us do early check-in 4 hours before the regular time. The room was very comfortable for all 4 of us, and the beds were super comfortable. The facilities were also great, beautiful pools and of course a nice beach. Will be back for a longer stay next time. It's not inexpensive, but still a good value.
location to beach and pool Dollar you to death. They charge 22.00 a day for beach taxes and do not tell you to you check out and then apply it to the 200.00 that you must put down when check in. ( THIS IS JUST FRAUD ). when I paid 6.00 usd to use there computer in there business center, the internet would not work. They refused to refund my money. Told me to come back tomorrow and i could use the computer for free. I told them i was checking out today and wanted credit for my 6.00. I was told by management they could not refund me. Due to these hidden cost, we moved to a different hotel.
Liked the pool and beach. Service was horrible. Staff wasn't friendly. Had to ask front desk 3 times for someone to unclog our bathroom shower (super unhygienic) and after everything was said and done they didn't come to fix it or move us rooms. They didn't even compensate us for the horrible inconvenience. The place felt really run down and in a not so safe location for walking around. Additionally the bathroom wouldn't stop flushing all night so the sound of water was really annoying. Not to mention the smell of this rancid running water. Waist experience at an intercontinental (which I'm truly a fan of usually).
The location is right on the beach, close to the airport. Good views from the ocean facing rooms. We were on the 16th floor and it was great. Lots of restaurants nearby and within the hotel. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable. Great housekeeping staff, very friendly and helpful Sand fleas...a tiny bug that bites like a mosquito/bed bug. They were all over in our room. This was before we had even stepped on the beach, so they were there before we came and stayed with us till the end. We had to apply bug repellent to sleep and not be bitten. No activities by the hotel. They charge a resort fees but it feels more like a traditional hotel rather than a resort. Tiny bathrooms No easy access to clothes dryer, c'mon you are on the beach.
What's not there to like? There's nothing there not to like!
The staff was friendly This is not an all inclusive resort, it does not even offer breakfast. We do not feel like we got our money's worth.
The attention to detail and quality was evident in the furnishings and finishes of the hotel. The staff as courteous and responsive and the daily guest wine and cheese reception was a nice touch. It's location is hard to beat and the hotel blends well into the historical city of Old San Juan. There is a lot of traffic directly outside. Not good for early check in.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful hosts, located in an old world city.
Every staff interaction was terrific. Friendly, eager, helpful, welcoming. Front desk, restaurant (tapas bar, food and staff shine!) History just walks the halls with you! The rooftop pool and hot tub with harbor view at sunset was something special. Then we left a coat behind, and discovered it after our cruise ship left, they packed it up and Shipped it home. Having to leave so soon. Should have booked a much longer stay!
I liked everything. The staff was incredibly accommodating. The hotel itself was amazing and exactly what I wanted, which was a place with character and charm. Do yourself a favor and stay here.
It's a historic building with an invaluable art collection. Their claim to have a pool is ludicrous.
I really love everything about the Caribe Hilton: the lovely and calm beach, the food, the location, etc. I first came here in 1976 on my honeymoon and have returned twice! Lovely gardens and great service. Prices are very high, especially breakfast!
The staff were amazing and very accommodating The view was amazing, the hotel was very comfortable and easy to get around.
the facilities pool and beach beautiful some rude personnel in valet parking
Nothing. Staying there
Let me start by saying that I am the type of person that reads negative reviews and most of the time ignores them because I feel some people can never be happy or they paid the price of a 2 star resort and expected services and amenities of a 6 star resort, that is not the situation with me and the Caribe Hilton. Also, I am not a newbie when it comes to travel. I cannot possibly fathom why someone would stay at this resort instead of going to an all inclusive in Aruba, Jamaica, River is Maya, etc... an all inclusive would be less than half the cost when considering food and drink (no exaggeration). Let me put it this way, if the Caribe Hilton was an all inclusive, it would be my least favorite all the resorts that I've been to but it is not all inclusive and you get price gouged with food and drink. Way, way, way too expensive for the value. You are not within walking distance to anything worth noting. Some will tell you that Old San Juan is within walking distance, that's bullcrap, unless you are a person that runs a couple miles every day it is not. It is close to a half hour walk. Who the hell wants to walk a half hour in 86 degree weather then walk up and down the hilly streets of Old San Juan all day then walk another half hour back to the hotel? The city did put in an awesome bicycle path so I guess you could do that, we didn't want to have to worry about them getting stolen while we shopping or eating. I enjoyed Old San Juan but if I wanted to visit again, it would be by a shore excursion while on a cruise. Our room was nice and clean. There were not that many people at the resort, wonder why, but you still couldn't get a good seat at the pool or Lagoon. The pools were small and freshwater and I worried because they didn't have chlorine the type of germs and things that were in it. The hotel was kind enough to put free fruit flavored water out for a few hours a day that ranged from refreshing to disgusting depending on the type of fruit. There was a wedding held there the Saturday we were there. An entire section of the beach was closed down and all the hammocks were removed because of the wedding. The hammocks were one of few things i enjoyed. At the end of the wedding, sometime between midnight and 1AM, someone decided to light off fireworks which I typically enjoy but not being woke out off a sound sleep and not going off feet from my room's balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful except when I was asked at checkout if I had a nice stay and I said not really, the girl just smiled and handed me my check. That was the icing on the cake for me, not only would I never stay at this resort again I would never stay at a Hilton again. For the grande finale, this hotel charges you a hotel fee on top of quoted price AND it is not cheap. Not sure if this is legal, but they know you can't do anything but gripe and moan because it isn't like you can walk to the hotel next door. Bottom line is if you are not concerned about money it's great
I like the exclusive beachfront and pool area with the view and close proximity to old San Juan. The staff was rude and sarcastic except for two which I came across towards the end my stay but far in between. Was treated as if we didn't matter since my arrival. Was told I could check in early as long as I paid a $75 fee when I spoke to them over the phone a day earlier and once I arrived was told I had to wait and I waited 6 hours.
It was in the right between the old and the new city.
This hotel is in a good location in San Juan, close to the airport, Old San Juan, and La Placita Sancturseas. Pretty beach area and overall appears to have nice banquet and resort amenities. From the website the location on the ocean looks appealing. Unaware of the additional resort charge I encountered when checking in. All additional services extremely expensive and gougingly high for mediocre service. Got sick from the food twice, facilities were dirty, loud and ill kept. Additional cost for ocean view balcony was not even close to that was described online. Perhaps it was just the timing and this hotels abundance of touristas that can't grasp good service from udderly piss poor hospitality and lodging. I've been to San Juan many times and travel frequently for work. Was absolutely accosted at the price, the additional resort charge and the complete disarray I found the resort to be in. Will most likely never stay at a Hilton chain again due to this experience. Not to rant on this as I'm pretty low maintenance, have worked many years in hospitality and it takes little to appease me. This experience was grotesque and I will certainly be more diligent in future bookings. Encouraged in discounts and refunds offered by companies such as Expedia for poor customer services such as this. No more Hiltons for me and most likely the last visit to San Juan given the costs.
The hotel itself was very nice and fun, very nice overall design and loved the hot tubs. The rooms were very out dated and a little gross. Mold in bathroom and it need re-caulking.
Awesome views, friendly/helpful staff, and beautiful private beach. Best resort in PR!
The location was excellent: right between old San Juan and Condessa. The pool was small but it was made for hanging around and sunning. Beautiful old ruins right next to the hotel made it picturesque. My view of the sea was beautiful. Pool food was a bit oily.
Hotel staff were friendly and informative. All areas of hotel were very tidy. I felt very welcomed and appreciated during my stay. The foot sham on the bed had stains. Cleaning service did not clean the glasses we used in the room. Hallways were quite cold for my taste. A bit pricey. Seems to be the norm in San Juan.
Good location, everything was clean, great staff. Parking not included.
La localizacion Precios altos, el area de la picina pequeña y tenia muchas ojas. Me cobraron dos veces la trasancion y no me ofrecieron algún descuento o estadia. Aun espero por mi credito de vuelta.
Live that the rooms were clean and modern. Staff was super friendly and helpful. It was a bit of a walk to hot spots. If you're ok with walking 10 minutes or more to the nearest hot spot then your stay will be a walk on the beach!
Excellent staff and service Welcome cookies Resort fees but this would go for all hotels in the area. Parking options
free cookies and ping pong table. staff was very friendly Lobby smelled like sewage. there was a stain on one of the towels. The bed comforter looked dirty, but I think it was actually the stuffing just clumped together from washing many times.
It was a wonderful experience. The staff was warm and friendly, and the room was immaculate.
Customer service House keeping. They took too long to clean our floor.
Gave us access to Isla Verde Marriott courtyard facilities as well. Staff was great! Across the street from a supermarket, near plenty of restaurants. Hotel menu was unimpressive, pool area not attached to the beach, but really there is a ton to like about this hotel!
Poool open24 hour a thumbs up! Lost my eyeglasses , i called first they say they found one and later no trace of them.. .strange.
Good location, lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Just one block from beach Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner, a little expensive for my taste but average for the area, hard to get parking!
The extremely helpful staff at the front desk the breakfast was bad
Recently my friend and I visited Puerto Rico and stayed in various locations around the island. The night we stayed in San Juan we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was right off of the main streets and close to the water. A short drive to Old San Juan.
The pool was small, but great. Water was warm and it was well tended to.
Exterior, location, lobby, style. No chair or sofa nor desk in the room. No closet for clothes.
Just walking thru the front gate up the front stairs and into the lobby the place had a wonderful old feel to it, from the carvings on the stair railings to the tiles on the floors as well as the architecture of the buIldings. The desk staff was amazing. We had only rented the room on Kayak two hours before we showed up. Check in was at 2pm, but coming back from a cruise we had nothing to do so showed up at 10am just to see if we could store our luggage until 2pm check in. They were kind enough to say yes. Our room had a double bed and was small but clean. They still use real keys on a key chain which I found very charming. There is a small swimming pool with a water fall running into the pool. The lighting and the plants in the back area and around the bar area are just lovely. There are no elevators and no bus boys which did not bother us but if you have an upper room you might want to take that into consideration if you like to pack heavy. The beach is one block away so easy walking. They do not have a restaurant on site but you can order from a limited menu and it is delivered to you from their "sister" hotel. Restaurants and pharmacies are within easy walking distance. The area is safe and you don't feel afraid to go out after dark. If you are looking for someone to wait on you and a maid on hand. ..this is not for you. But if you want a charming romantic villa style place to stay. ..I highly recommend this. Our room was next to the street and we got a lot of street noIse. Other than that. ..I didn't have any thing I didn't like.
I went away with my 15 year old daughter for a mother daughter weekend away we arrived on Thursday and left on Monday Overall stay was great staff were awesome and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable Rooms were clean and comfortable pool was small but just what we were looking for not to many people to compete with for chairs Loved all the different areas around the hotel for sitting and relaxing beach was less then a block away and not to crowded Staff were great friendly and helpful Sister hotel a block away had great breakfast Area was close enough to shopping and restaurants but far enough away for peace and quiet Beach less then block away
Very attentive staff, comfortable accommodations. The location is perfect to the beach and many local favorites.
I often stay at Wind Chimes. It is affordable, clean, attractive, and nicely situated for walking or bus lines. I would love access to tables for computer work. It would be nice to have a table and chair in the room
Location good No parking No pool Internet service unreliable Outdated building
The location, price, and staff were amazing . Room was a little dated but still cozy a great stay.
I loved the place, the staff, the location, the cozy boutique hotel. The rooms were old Spanish style, with a nice pool, and terrace. Bar, and near by beach, and restaurants. The worst part, and only thing I will not consider it again, is the parking issue. Parking in the establishment or around the building is 99% impossible. I had to walk 3 blocks and paid $25 to park. For that I might as well pay for a more expensive hotel with available parking.
Its an amazing boutique hotel Better than expected!!
The Olive Boutique Hotel was absolutely perfect for a solo traveler or couple staying in the Condado area of Puerto Rico. The location was great. It is situated just off of Ashford Avenue where all the hustle and bustle is, BUT remains relatively quiet because of its juxtaposition. The staff was awesome and so friendly. They really got to know you as a guest in the hotel and they were all so helpful with tips and finding your way around the island. I went solo for a birthday vacation and my stay was beyond wonderful. My room was comfy, cozy, and gorgeous. I received little treats everyday and even a bottle of champagne to celebrate my birthday! Everything is in walking distance and the beach is just across the street! What more could you ask for? The fact that I had to leave!
You are a few miles from the pier at Hyatt House. Good complimentary breakfast.
Friendly staff, all in good condition, everything is new. The location is in the San Juan convention center district, we book it for a convention and we walk to all the activities. Nice view to the harbor and the cruise line. If you are traveling to take a cruise (Royal Caribbean terminal) it just right there. Overall is a 4 star hotel.
Breakfast potatoes. I would like a more veggie friendly breakfast
I like that is in a good area , not bad at all. Some convenience places to eat and buy simple things. Close walking to some local and hotel beaches. The hotel staff are very friendly and helped me out in every question or need I had. They solved the problem when I first arrive due to they gave me a room that had very bad smell of humidity. I was happy they found one Avalos room. This a small hotel that I recommend for a couple or just Adult Solo trip. Not for a family. Hallways in every floor need ventilation, it feels dry and some smell not bad but to a closed space smell. but in overall rate is a good hotel towards excellent for the price, WIFI Very good and having signal everywhere in the hotel. Quiet enough for resting. Bathroom nice and big, shower very good pressure. I would use this hotel for my solo trip but for the overall, I would suggest not to pay more than a $90.0 per night. I don't watch TV but I heard people complaint about problems with TV, until I had the experience my TV lost signal. I did not request to get it fixed because I expent my time outside the hotel. Bath tube drain clogged while showering so water was filling up above your feet. Parking not recommended... Very tiny space for all cars and every time you want to use the car same person at the front desk had to move and re park the other cars, while some one is waiting at the front desk until this person finish to accommodate the cars again. Don't get me wrong... They were always helpful, friendly and always willing to help you. Bad quality of customer service in the restaurant in front the hotel... and pricy.. But better go to other areas. Curtains in the room are too smal of the size of the window..so light comes through all night and doesn't keep the room dark. No door tags for RESTING /DO NOT DISTURB.. So cleaning service (very nice) they have to knock out your door. Price. I believe the rate is little high for what is worth. Find a better discount in the Internet even so the hotel is not Chain hotel company. Good luck.
Staff were professional and very helpful throughout our stay. Clean and a great location. Hotel had a great view of the ocean and parts of the city. Transportation was easy to grab to go to Old San Juan. It's our second time here and we will definitely be back soon. N/A
Nice clean hotel will a very nice staff. The lady that was the desk clerk was outstanding. They have a roof top terrace on the 9th floor with an outstanding view of the area. The area also has a nice local flair with many local restaurants and there is a grocery store a few doors down. I would stay here again.
Room size was good and the redone bathroom was beautiful! Also LOVED the rooftop deck. It was our favorite thing about our stay because it was very quiet with good views of the city and harbor and lovely seating arrangements. We also enjoyed walking the neighborhood. There are lots of restaurants close by and even a grocery store where we picked up a few things. And we walked to a lovely little park right on the water's edge. I thought our room had a strange odor, but my husband thought it was fine. If we had been staying more than one night I would have complained and asked to change rooms but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Also our shower curtain had mildew on it, which I realize is difficult to avoid with the humidity in San Juan, but housekeeping needs to stay on top of this.
I like the fact that you were close to restaurants and shopping. Close to the cruise port. We took a walk to Walmart and Marshall's near by. They have a roof top lounge area that is very nice at night. Wonderful breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. There is also a 24 hour restaurant across the street. There are plenty of eating places in the area. Had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready. So they stored everyone's luggage while they explored the town.
Close to cruise ships and not far from airport, old town, paseo caribe, good restaurants, great rooftop terrace, helpful staff, neat cafe, exceptionally spacious room, excellent wifi, very clean,
Everything was great. Limited parking.
Really close to the beach and Condado !!!
Had an excellent stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I could tell the woman who was over our floor took pride in her work.
Size of room
Staff was very helpful! Great recommendations for food and places to go. Would definitely stay again.
Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions-Would stay here again if in the area-Loved the terrace on the top floor, we preferred that to a pool.
Beautiful hotel!!! Excellent staff! Fantastic location. Our A/C was leaking and they could not get it to stop. The hotel had no other rooms available so to fix the problem they moved us to a nearby hotel. The new place was beautiful as well and it felt like we got an upgraded room. We were very impressed with how the situation was resolved so quickly and smoothly. Nothing! Would have loved to have stayed there if the A/C would have stopped leaking. But they fixed the situation very quickly.
Hotel was very cleaned, staff was so attentive and personable, room was comfortable enough for 2 people.
We loved our stay at this cozy little boutique hotel in the heart of Old San Juan! Lots of character and small rooms (which we liked and found so comfortable). Loved the chandeliers in the bedroom and even bathroom! The staff was so accommodating and friendly and hauled my overstuffed, incredibly heavy bag all the way up 5 flights of stairs with no problem (they don't have an elevator yet). The rooftop was so unique and overlooked the city too! I would highly recommend if you're looking for a different kind of experience than the Hilton and big chain hotels. They're currently installing an elevator but the staff will gladly carry bags up the stairs for you.
This is a very charming little hotel in a great location in the middle of Old San Juan, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it. The bed was pretty hard. I overpaid because I booked through this site. I would have paid much less booking with the hotel directly. I recommend you do that.
The position is great , the staff is excellent, clean, nice, the best place to walk Old San Juan
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location. Iconoclastic décor. I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel, but it does not meet the lowest level of fire safety standards. There is only one open stairway leading to all the floors and no secondary means of escape--not even a fire escape. There is not separation between the lobby and the restaurant. There is no sprinkler system.
I liked the location on Calle Fortaleza, close to good restaurants and to parking lot. The room was incredibly small. I need to talk to someone in the front desk to get my key, and they had a sign that says "for help text x number". Nobody answered until the next day when I had left already. How did I finally get my key? I opened the desk and there it was, no help, no security, no supervision. I just took it and kept going.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Joyce promptly answered my emails/questions before we got there. Location was perfect. Right in Old Town San Juan. Couldn't find an outlet in the bathroom. Made it a bit more difficult to get ready in the morning. Room was small but wasn't an issue for us because we were only in our room to sleep.
This was our second visit. We love the historic and quaint atmosphere this hotel provides, exactly the experience we wanted in Old San Juan. This small hotel is not crowded and staff treat you like a personal guest. They go above and beyond to help you and ensure you enjoy your stay. It can be a bit noisy but at no fault of the hotel. When you stay on Fortaleza St you are in the center of the action and hear music from neighboring restaurants. We did not mind this. Being in the center of things was important to us and we felt part of the activity and excitement that is Old San Juan.
Cancelled my reservation without comunicating it with me. I've been traveling for over 15 years and this was the fist time this has ever happened. Most irresponsible booking ever.
Surrounding nature. Lack of elevator and steep stairs - hard and almost impossible to take it up if you have large luggage. Also dark room, and sheets not washed properly.
Unique architecture, well-designed layout affording privacy, laid back setting,.close to beach, in nice section of Condado, a comfy homey feeling Check in at sister hotel up the street
Peaceful elegance, helpful staff, good food, walk to beach, near Bebos, bus to Old San Juan, easy to get to and from airport, good view of ocean from rooms. Not a complaint, but something to consider: parking difficult to find on street.
Loved the location and the overall esthetic of the hotel. Charming appeal and friendly staff. The rooms were not cleaned well. There was an overall feeling that the cleaning crew did not clean the bathrooms and floor well. The mirrors were not cleaned and the glass not wiped down in bathroom nor was the toilet cleaned during routine am service.
The hot tub is pretty sweet. Mosquitos, the price, the lack of accessible staff.
Clean, and looks new. Balcony is nice. Location is just one minute walk to public beach where many people gathers. Rate is not so high comparing to the others. A little far (10-15 minutes walk) from Condad central area (Mariott). I cannot find major restaurants near the hotel. No bath tub, just shower in the room. TV is small, old type.
The rooms were comfortable and adequately appointed. Decor was eclectic and attractive. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only negative thing I would say is that it seemed to be in not a great neighborhood. There were bars on The windows of most buildings surrounding the hotel and several of the business is required buzzers at the front door to let their customers in as did the Acacia.
Large outdoor jacuzzi very well maintained. Friendly staff. Free wi-fi. Close to beach with towels provided. Stained sheets. Breakfast only for those who have lots of time to spare (actually we usually did have). Needed to go to 'At Wind Chimes' to access reception
