We arrived hongkong and was informed that our flight has been rebooked even though we can see that the plane was still there and staffs are still at the gate. We were transferred to a layover flight from HongKong to Aussie then Aussie to Auckland instead of going straight. Seats was set far apart with no competitions at all. Sorry is not enough for this big hassle."

Pro: "My checked luggage bag was damaged. I noticed the damage only after I I reached home. However, when I reported Cathay Pacific baggage staff were very helpful and professional. I know several airlines who hide behind bureaucratic procedures to stonewall customers. CP is not one of them. Excellent service, before, after and during the flight."

Kontra: "They managed to run out of the Western breakfast option (which I did not want anyway, but many British tourists had to make do with yoghurt and fruit due to unfamiliarity with congee). The entertainment system is controlled by touchscreen only. An elegant solution that is simple to keep clean, but you get tired of holding your arm up at eye level."

Last year we flew business class Cathay pacific from Hong Kong to Melbourne and loved it. This year we decided to fly from Melbourne to Dusseldorf and then from Frankfurt to Melbourne with this airline. Won't be doing that again. Why pay business class fares to be disapointed"

Pro: "I really appreciated that Cathay flew another plane in to pick us up when our original aircraft was mechanically grounded at the previous destination. The crew were very professional."
Kontra: "Our flight was delayed due to mechanical failure and didn't arrive from its destination: Taipei. We were not told about the possibility of our flight being cancelled as we arrived at check-in, we were allowed to check our bags first, issued boarding passes and *then* we were told to come back to check in counter in 3.5-4 hours. Our checked luggage had already been taken and with it, clean clothes, toiletries and other items that could have made the waiting more comfortable. After coffee and a snack we decided to check in to the capsule hotel at Narita. Minimum stay was one night at that hour of the day - for stays after 6pm. While I appreciated that Cathay got us out later that evening, the plane we flew was one of the oldest in the fleet: the seats did not recline at all so it was very uncomfortable. It was a late night flight but no one was offered pillows or blankets. (I did receive one upon request). We arrived in Hong Kong in the early hours of the next morning - 3 hours late - after the airport train had finished running so I paid for a taxi home which I normally would not need to do since I already had a train ticket. so my flight experience did cost me some extra money this trip."

Pro: "The friendliness of the crew, noticed I woke up and served me breakfast with only 45 mins till landing.. The flight was delayed and the airline had arranged for an escort to quickly get me to my next flight without even asking"

Kontra: "Entertainment touch screen did not work properly. Staff had yo reset it a few times but it still didn't recognise touch most of time which was frustrating. The screen should be chaned or repaired. It was cold on the plane Departure was delayed but we did not get explanation"

Kontra: "When we booked we asked for a child's meal and we advised of allergies. However I don't see why we would have to ask as we booked a child's seat and you have to provide the age which she is 4. When onboard from SYD/HKG and HKG/LONDON, NO meal was available for our child except for what everyone else was eating. She is anaphylaxis to shellfish, she was given shrimp!!!!! I am sure if she was given a child's meal she would not have got this. We were then told we have to advise the airline 12 hours before we fly that we want a child's meal. I am sorry but when travelling we should not have to do this and nor have we ever had to do it on any other airline. Poor poor poor!!!!"

The entertainment system kept dropping playback, (crashing) so I would have to restart playing the video. Something similar happened on another Turkish flight."

Kontra: "They cancelled my returning flight WITHOUT me knowing and expecting me to pay for the penalty fee for misisng the first flight even tho I DID not cancel the returning flight which obviously I was gonna take. The staff was RUDE and INSENSITIVE. Qatar was better in overall customer service. Worst customer service from Turkish airline."

Kontra: "I have a trip from Manchester to Riyadh and I have a stop in Istanbul. Manchester plane was delayed one hour, no problem, but I arrived in Istanbul at the right time and the gate was open I gave them my ticket. They told me that the sestem moved your seat to the second plane but now the plane is open. ? I waited 6 hours at Ataturk airport and had a working meeting I could not attend"

Kontra: "They made us wait for 2 hours out in the open on a winter night. They wouldn't let us in the terminal. It was outrageous. Everyone was extremely rude."

Pro: "Another excellent business class service from the team at Turkish Airlines. The food offering was high quality, and the little cultural influences made it an enjoyable experience."
Kontra: "The cabin design is perhaps looking a little dated and tired compared to some of its business class competitors. This was also true of comparing the 3 flights I had on a Boing 777 model versus one of the short haul legs on a more modern Airbus."

The lady also told us that she didn't need the passport or her boarding pass ??? Because of that my grandmother almost got lost , we had to wait for her for an eternity. She got very scared and very upset for what you guys did . She is an old lady and it was one of her worst experiences of her life"

Kontra: "This is our second experience of flights being cancelled via Turkish Airlines. Very disappointing customer care when flights get cancelled. Staff totally unprepared and untrained for such situations. We waited around for 6 hours before finding out on our own, that the flight was cancelled. The notice was not shown on the board. In all waited around at the airport for more than 10 hours before we were finally carted off to a small hotel near by at 1230am in the morning. Very little to no information given throughout the whole process, stranded with parched throats, no luggage, clean clothes or toothbrush."

We asked if the flight was full and she replied with a face gesture that indicated 'no' (it was a 1.50am flight) so we asked if possible to upgrade with points and she totally ignored, spoke in Turkish to 2 other check in colleagues, printed the boarding passes and almost threw them down on the counter without responding on upgrade. We felt too intimidated to ask any more. Also our mileage points for this sector of our travel were not booked to our KrisFlyer accounts so wondering if she did not capture at check in."
Kontra: "The cabin was quite warm and unable to adjust any air flow to the seat. Because the flight wasn't full my husband was able to move to a vacant group of seats and lie down so eventually cooled down and got some sleep. Otherwise excellent flight"

KLM offer a superior flight experience - it is a shame their terrestrial customer servic does not match it!"

So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."

Pro: "Helpful and smiling cabin crew."

Pro: "The cabin crew were good. They explained what the arrangements were for the delayed flight connections"
Kontra: "The plane wasn't refueled and so was not ready for take off once the passengers were loaded. The plane had a technical problem when it tried the first take off and so it had to be abandoned. This was alarming.."

Pro: "In flight food was enjoyable"

Kontra: "Dutch sub titels would be nice."

Kontra: "I don’t like the limited choice of drinks on these short KLM flights."

Kontra: "No proper info regarding cancellation. Staff was unfriendly and abruptly responded to passengers."

Pro: "had problems checking in , in that I was charged for a suitcase! I have since checked my paper work and found thad that I had paid for a case! I will follow this up when I return to the UK"

Pro: "From downloading the KLM app to the final touchdown of my final flight, everything was an ease, checking in, the option to change my seat, the service received was great."
Kontra: "The ability to state a seat or meal preference within the app would be good but otherwise all was good."

Pro: "Easy boarding, plenty of room"

Pro: "The staff at the front desk for the check-in were extremely helpful. I had a complicated issue with my luggage and they helped me to sort it out in the best possible way. Amazing service! Furthermore, the entertainment on board is great! Nice movies, nice food, friendly flight attendants, etc. They even offered me a second sandwich =)! I truly loved my experience with KLM."

Pro: "good service"

Kontra: "Departure 40 mins late. I took this flight 2 weeks ago and it was also delayed."

Pro: "The crew were lovely and welcoming. We was given snacks and drinks on the flight which was great. Take off was a bit delayed but boarding was smooth. Couldn't complain about the comfort as was only just over an hours flight."

Pro: "Crew service"
Kontra: "Flight delayed."

Pro: "The flight was delayed by 40 minutes initially then a further 20 making it an hour late. Sitting at the gate there was then suddenly a last call to board the flight and a mad rush for everyone to get on. I appreciate that delays happen but the lack of communication ragardinh altered boarding times didn't make the situation any easier"

Kontra: "Luggage (being handled by Air France in Basel) was first marked as delayed... nothing of the flight was in the end put on the belt and instead dropped off at Lost and Found. Ridiculous service since this was in no way announced to the people waiting for their suitcase."

Pro: "Overall very nice flight, even comes with free drink and snack"

Kontra: "The flight was good, however I was not able to check in online due to British airways website issues. The entertainment touch screen is not working properly,needs some maintenance."

Pro: "The crew saw I was travelling with my young son; baby and elderly parents. We were placed at the front of the crew and were kind enough to allow me to board first."
Kontra: "Most passengers had to put cabin bags into the hold. These were taken at the gate, it would have been nicer to have had this notified by text or when checking in so the bags could have been left at the check in desk."

Pro: "Crew were good early on but didn’t check later on"
Kontra: "It was ridiculously hot and the crew didn’t offer water after initial drinks run and we were seriously dehydrated. The flight was delayed and although the first half an hour we had excellent service there was no follow up service and the temperature in the plane was really very uncomfortable"

Kontra: "British Airways neither a budget airline nor a lux airline. Doesn’t know what it is."

Pro: "The flight attendants were brilliant! Kind, caring, helpful and smiling.."

Pro: "We got to our destination"
Kontra: "Everything. Possibly the worst airline in Europe."

Pro: "quick boardling, good flight, enough personal space in business class"
Kontra: "I do wish passengers would sit until the seatbelt signs are off and not all jump up and open the over heard bins and drop things"

Kontra: "the onboard entertainment is a very old system based on small unpractical screen. Mine was also broken. My meal came, twice, with no cold drinks. I had to call the crew but did not answer all the times. When they came, they brought the wrong drink."

Pro: "Boarded efficiently. Took off on time. Landed ahead of schedule."
Kontra: "Checking in process. Choice of seats very limited and I accessed the website (literally) the minute online checkin opened."

Kontra: "ok when in Malaga I asked for wheelchair at Gatwick as I had pulled a muscle in my back and it was hard to walk got to Gatwick No wheelchair had to walk not very good"

Pro: "Everything from check in to arrival was first class"
Kontra: "The only thing I had a problem with was baggage claim, we had priority stickers on our bags but it made no difference, bags were very slow to arrive"

Pro: "leaving the plane"
Kontra: "Boarding a disaster. Flight delayed because crew had to offload hand luggage for 10 minutes. This should have been handled at check in or at the gate. Seat comfort way beyond a joke and they call themselves a premium airline. Food was out in row 4!!!! Seriously!!! Arrival at Heathrow, jetty broken and more delay."

Pro: "Comfort of the journey, take off and landing were expertly done, approach was just the right speed and contact was soft but firm. Crew were pleasant enough. One of them felt he always had to show his authority with a firm voice, not necessary but maybe that’s how he speaks. In general no problems"
Kontra: "I’m quite disappointed to have to buy food on an airline of British airways stature. My only gripe with whole day."

Pro: "Typical solid British Airways service."
Kontra: "Delayd by 4 hours."

Pro: "The plane got from a to b safely"
Kontra: "The food was dreadful. Both the gluten free and regular meals. Tasteless and unimaginative. Very dodgy landing. The time of arrival given by the airline prior to flying did not take into account the fact that the clocks went back. So our pickup was delayed. Not good at 4 am"

Pro: "On time, smooth and professional. Didn’t have food or entertainment so can’t rate those."
Kontra: "I was travelling as a connection following a long haul flight from Australia and was desperate for a cuppa but had no money or English bank card and didn’t want to incur huge fees to use my Oz card so was disappointed there was no complimentary drinks."

Kontra: "The absurd delay and the fact that last row seats can’t be reclined and have no windows. Not a nice experience."

Kontra: "Inept staff throughout at Heathrow. Sat on the plane for half an hour while they located someone ‘qualified to open the door’."

Kontra: "Unfortunately BA have turned into a budget airline experience at higher than budget airline prices."

Pro: "Not much"
Kontra: "It was late, it was cramped, they make you pay for everything suitcases, soft drinks, the lot, next time we will consider who we spend our hard earned cash with Disappointing as I am a real advocate for BA"

Pro: "The efficiency of every sing step from booking to boarding"
Kontra: "The type of the people flew with me -loud and misbehaving. Crew couldn't do anything."

Kontra: "BA has got rid of in flight services - so what am I paying so much for? - and made me exit and re-enter through security despite the fact that I’d checked in for a connecting flight. Overall not a positive experience and don’t think I’ll be rushing to fly with them again."

Kontra: "Broken tray, broken ear jack, very full flight and staff very rushed , skipping people re meals and drinks, definitely not as good a team as my outbound flight"

Pro: "Boarding was swift and timely, seats ok"
Kontra: "There was an engine problem and they told us while we were taxiing. Went back for more check nd fierce several trials they had to repair the problem. This cause a delay of two hour during which we had to sit in the plane and no drinks or snacks of any kind were offered. But what’s worse there were vague, confused and misleading information given both by the captain and the crew regarding the connecting flights. As matter of fact, although I arrived with a two hour delay and had only one hour for my connection, I followed the instructions and run like hell(literally)to the boarding gate. I made it for a few minutes. The personnel was very friendly and helpful and they made all they could to check me on the flight just to find out BA had cancelled my booking even before my arrival to London. I made it home and they apologized but this is not how I expected BA to handle a delay(which I understand can happen)."

Pro: "Minor fault identified and notified to passengers prior to take-off, and dealt with immediately. Crew excellent"
Kontra: "Cramped seating, the feel of a budget airline now in economy, with seat choice, refreshments and stowed baggage all ‘extra’"

Pro: "The journey was not that long as expected"

Pro: "Polite crew, flight was on time landing - even early. Seats were comfortable."

Kontra: "It was like being on a really cheap budget airline, but paying expensive prices. Food only for sale with a British credit or debit card, won't take cash,no menu cards, and even if I'd wanted to get food, no gluten free options, which is not a lifestyle choice for me, but a necessity.Scruffy dog-eared magazines in the seat pocket. Not even an offer of tea or coffee. Check-in online would not allow me to change my seat, although it told me I could. I fly a lot, but tend to avoid BA now if I can, and this flight just confirmed that preference."

Kontra: "Late flight It’s become like s budget carrier, you pay for drinks and food"

Pro: "Everyone please read this carefully before flying with British Airways - we will be taking this further as customer service is appalling!"
Kontra: "British Airways overbooked the flight so we missed it and the next one due to system failure. We then were trapped in the airport (Heathrow) for the entire day. They 'allowed' us to leave the airport nine hours after we got there but unfortunately there were no trains, planes or buses going to Milan until midnight. After we searched for two hours to get to Milan we found one but had to spend nine hundred pounds to get a flight with another airline to get to my friends wedding. They lost our bags so we had to borrow clothes for the wedding from friends which was so embarrassing! We then continued our trip and they still have not returned our bags seven days into what was going to be the holiday of a lifetime. Not only have they ruined the trip for us both, they have cost us a bomb as we have had to buy clothes as we go."

Pro: "Nice crew and modern aircraft"
Kontra: "I do this flight every year at this time and now BA actually charges you to choose a seat - on top of the (not cheap) hand luggage fare. And there was no apology for the delay."

Pro: "Arrived ahead of time, although flight was fully booked, boarding was quick."
Kontra: "Nothing, flights to Frankfurt have always gone off on time for me."

Pro: "Everything was organised.Didn't even waste a minute.I should say excellent service being my first trip withBA"

Pro: "The flight left on time even though full flight and we had to take a bus to the airplane. Bologna has a separate baggage and ticket check line at the back of the executive lounge. Quick and effective."
Kontra: "Everything seemed to go smoothly so no negative comments."
